hello again, my friend.

christina and i were thinking about re-creating this blog because we miss having something to share and look forward to. i mean... for the past year we've been way too busy with work, school, life, family, friends--the college life!--that we have rarely had time to keep in touch and talk like we always used to these past six years. so let me begin...

i had a revelation today.

i don't know what the hell i am doing with my life! i know that i've become really addicted to things which have held me back from doing other things. i know that i've become lazy and just don't feel like i really need to do anything at all right now except live everyday the way it comes. but today, i didn't just know those things, i saw those things for what they really were. i've simply lost sight of who i am and what it was i set out to do for myself and the world, ever since i was a young girl.

so im going to make changes gradually. the first, starting with my diet.

eating right, i've realized, is not just for my body but is for the world. i love animals and have felt bad for consuming them ever since i became aware i was killing to eat, but really, i need to cut down on my meat intake. i've been telling myself that i need to start eating healthy and start losing weight for years, but what has compelled me to really try and become a vegetarian is the recent oil spill in the gulf. honestly, i'm scared of whats going to happen. the environment is becoming so fragile that i don't even know what to think or how to feel--how to even explain how i feel. maybe this whole 2012 scare is getting to me and i'm simply just noticing the earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis and natural disasters that happen all the time more this year. or maybe something really is happening. i don't know. all i know is, i know i can do something to make a difference in pollution and slaughter, and i'm going to do it. me going vegetarian is not going to stop the thousands of cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys from dying every day, but atleast i can say that i'm not part of it. atleast i know that no matter how small of a difference it makes it still makes a difference.

i'm going to do it. dieting has always been hard for me, but i've realized, that if i can't commit myself to a simple diet then i really am not going to be able to commit myself to anything important in life.

on another note. i'm waiting to hear back from the new job position i took up. i kind of left them a hectic voicemail last week... so i hope they don't think of me differently and decide to not offer me the job because i already gave i love teriyaki my two-week notice!

i'm going to really miss working at i love teriyaki. well... probably not as much as i feel i am going to right now, but i'll miss it enough. i've had some crazyy horrible times there with customers and co-workers, but i've also had some crazyyy good times there as well. for example, i'm really fond of this one regular. he's extremely sweet and used to always come in and order the same thing every single day. he kind of disappeared for the past few months and i kind of missed him and his friendly hello that put me in a good mood all the time, but i got over it. he came back however! lol. yes, he came back. he came back about a week ago and told me he changed locations for his job so that's why he hadn't come by for so long. today he came in again and he finally, after these past nine months of working at i love teriyaki and serving him, accumulated 650 points on his bonus card and got the $70 gift card. i told him i was leaving and that it was nice to see him finally get the $70 gift card he wanted to get so much for this past year before i left. in return, he told me he was also leaving soon. he told me that he was going to go to the army in four months. it was kind of a sad moment--i don't know if on his part but definitely on my part--because i had grown so fond of him and it seemed like we almost had become friends. we always learned a little more about each other with every encounter. in the end, however, it was simply a "it was nice knowing you." he said that. and what made me feel even more sad was the "take care." i'm not sad because he said it in an emotionless way (which he didn't, despite the way i make it sound), i'm simply sad because we will probably never see each other again. i'm grateful that i love teriyaki was a place that connected me to so many people, even if it was just in the form of a "hello, how are you doing today?" and a "have a nice day! thank you." i'm going to miss having that small connection to others. i really wish i wasn't so stupid and had more to say to him about him leaving for the army though. i really do appreciate all that soldiers sacrifice for this country, and i wish i was able to let him know that. hopefully he comes in again before i leave so i can let him know. and hopefully i'm not an awkward mess like i always am--need to work on that!

goodnight. i should be sleeping already because i do have work in the morrow! :) i think because i know i'm not going to be working there any longer, i really am enjoying work these days. haha. my coworkers are probably nicer too, since i'm leaving and they're going to miss me, lol. i'm real nervous about my new job though. ahh. i don't know what to expect...

just trying to get myself together, again. not going to stop until i do.

ain't nothing gonna change

I had a really good weekend last weekend! I got to dress up for the first time in a LOOOONG TIME! I finally got to wear a dress. My friend had her 18th bday at a sushi restaurant and I gave her the idea to have a black and white theme and she would wear a different vibrant color. It was fun to see everyone dress up, especially the guys ;). I just wore a simple black bubble dress and accessorized with black heels and a black fedora. We had a lot of fun because the host, our other friend was able to hook us up with a private room with karaoke. After we ate sushi, we went to Red Berry for some fro-yo, walked around Safeway and just ended up chilling at someone's house for a while. It was a nice night out and I love seeing people who I haven't seen for awhile. Plus it feels good to look pretty in heels once in awhile.

Maggie, Me, & BDAY girl Chrissa
The next day, I went to Santa Cruz Boardwalk with my family, my mom's friend's family and Maggie. It was A LOT OF FUN! I haven't been to the ocean in years and I always go to SF beach is never warm enough to swim in. We had a blast playing in the water and trying to body surf. I know this is a stupid comment, but DAMN the OCEAN IS SALTY. It is disgusting but that did not stop us from body surfing and failing and twirling under the water. I got sand everywhere (especially in the most inappropriate areas). It was a fun relaxing day. I want to go back before I leave for SD. I am definetly going to get a boogie board when I go to San Diego. Sadly, I did not really improve my tan that much. I put extra sunblock because I didn't want to burn. But it was still fun :).

Maggie + Christina = Magina (does not rhyme with vagina)

On Wednesday I threw a "goodbye" party with my friend Desiree at her house because of the UC Berk kids leaving soon. It was a very successful potluck and party. For once, we actually had REAL food for the potluck, not just chips and soda (because I specifically told them not too!). I made garlic buttered bread with bagels instead of bread because I have a month's supply of bagels from working at a cafe/bakery also. I hadn't seen some people since the beginning of summer but it felt like we saw each other just last week. It was high school all over again, not that I minded. I really enjoyed it--just talking, playing games and spending time with each other without any stresses, worries, or drama. It was just FUN. Though at one point when we were playing massive TABOO (20 people!), I look over at Desiree and had this overwhelming feeling of how much I will miss her. Even though not everyone was my closest friend or the person I could confide in, there were some people there whom I will truely missed as a classmate, as a party friend, as a hangout friend, or a friend to just exchange jokes and pick up lines. I just went over and hugged her and told her "I WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH". It is hard to believe some people are actually leaving. It is hard to believe I am leaving. With six weeks, I am starting to feel those little emotions, those little heart clenching moments. I am not trying to be dramatic or sentimental (I usually am not) but I feel it. It is a different change--moving on. But I just want to focus on the happy moments and not feel sad but happy to see everyone go and about to have the best times of their lives--even though we are not together to enjoy it.

I just want to live for right now for the time being, just for a little awhile.

the first one

Today marks the day where it all begins. Today, one of my friends, Angelo was the first to leave for college and he left for the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Now I can complain about being 8 hours away from home but that does not compare to being a couple states away. How crazy is that. I got to hang out with my friend for his last day before he left tomorrow morning.

Even though I havent really talked or hung out with my friend this summer, I was sad to see him go. We have been friends since sophomore year. Yeah 3 years has been a short time but I can say I think of him as a close friend because he has really affected me. Although we haven't really been close this year, I cannot forget what he has done for me for the last couple years. He was there to give me advice, to de-stress me and to be a hardass to me when I needed it. I can honestly say he helped pushed me even though sometimes I just wanted to do better in school just to beat him, not for my own self. But it really did help and I am glad he was there for me. Actually it was me, Hanh, him that kind of had a mini-support group for each other. We would go on jogs during the school year and the summer and as stupid and crazy as it sounds, most of the time we would just be stressing about school and college. WE ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT COLLEGE to each other because there really was no other people we could talk to about it. It really helped to have each other, even if we overwhelmed each other sometimes. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.

So for his last day, we met with a couple friends at In&Out for a bit. They definetly don't have In&Out in Colorado. It was nice to chill and talk and exchange stories. Then afterwards me and Angelo went to Hanh's house. It was us three, the original jogging buddies. We sat in Hanh's backyard and talked for 2 hours about everything -- college, the future, our past, etc. It was fun, even if it wasnt our "last jog". I was glad we were able to spend his last hours with just us three. We even predicted how we would be by Thanksgiving Break. I would be the beach bunny, Hanh the brainy baggy eyed hippie and Angelo the hardcore muscle man. Lets see if the predictions come true.

On the second picture, we were doing a self timer and Hanh accidentally clicked the 2 second timer and that is why we look so wild while Angelo looks cheesy.

While we were talking, I realized him leaving marks the beginning of everyone leaving. Berkeley kids leave first in Aug 18th??, then CSUS kids later in August, then finally the rest of the UCs will leave by Sept 18th. Pretty crazy. When I leave for UCSD, who will be there to say bye? :(

But I am not too worried... I know that this only marks the beginning, not the end. :]

I should stop being so cheesy :P

the freaking future.

Like many other high school seniors (in California I guess), I went to visit college(s) this weekend. I visited my college of choice: UC SAN DIEGO!!! So I was anticipating all week for that weekend trip to get spring break STARTED!!! Well we left Friday evening. It was just my parents, my sister Bella, me, and Kingston. I wanted to take Kingston to show him the place before he turned it down. He turned it down anyway but at least we had a fun time. I dont think I would have been as entertained without him and his DS! Let me say I think I will forever suck at tetris. It was an interesting 8 hour trip there and then 8 hours back. Well we drove straight to SD. A couple hours in, we stopped at Dennys for dinner. Did you know there is a Denny's at every freaking rest stop!?!? I ate a french toast grand slam for dinner. On the way out, I missed a sensation. As we were walking out, a couple people were walking in and I walked out first and was looking at the ground for some reason but my sister and Kingston were like OMG did you see that after we walked a bit away. Apparently some old guy had a crazy handlebar mustache. I was sad to have missed it. Even my mom saw it.

We drove for hours and then stopped at a rest stop to rest but we were all restless so we drove to Mcdonalds near the school. We got to the school at like 7 am. It was pretty deserted. The campus was pretty big. I didn't fall in love with it at first but gradually it grew on me. I really liked the ERC program and SO MANY CHANCES TO STUDY ABROAD OMMMMGGG!!! It is a dream, though I am sure it is a hassle to have so many writing classes, but I was born to do it. I am really excited for the educational part (as nerdy as that is). I met up with Melanie and we toured the dorms a bit at ERC. I liked them. They were so quaint and cute. I love the community feel. I could totally fit in. AND EVERYONE WAS SO BEACH READY?!!? And Cafe Ventura was freaking BEAUTIFUL!!! I loved the clothing store. I bought one tee but I was ready to buy the whole store (though it is expensive). I met up with Maggie at the clothing store. We were so overexcited about the clothes, the little key chains, and all the knick knacks. I loved it.

After visiting UCSD, we went to LA or mostly Koreatown to eat and hang. We ate at a great soondobu place. I was so hungry and I was so full afterwards. They had the coolest bathroom. They even had a dental rinse thing. I sound like a hick for being so amazed. I realized a lot of places outside of Sacramento do not have paper towels though. They prefer those hand dry machine things. I guess it saves energy and waste. They also have lots of automatic hand soaps and toilets (though I've come across that before, don't worry I am not that much of a Valley Girl). We went to a little Korean mall. My sister and I bought cute cell charms and a Boys Over Flower calendar. Yes, we are fan girly like that. I enjoyed myself though. It was very refreshing to have fun in LA. I am glad I was not accepted into UCLA. I would have gone broke spending money in all those cute little ethnic towns and cool places. Damn, Im scared of my future self spending so much money on anything I think is worthy.

I didn't get to take many pictures as I would have liked.
We were too busy looking to capture moments.

Playing a little motion blur in the car

My parents walking onto the UCSD campus.

Kingston's back

ONE of the nice libraries at UCSD.
It has amazing architecture.

Just some of the food we got. Sorry this only shows kimchi.
They gave amazing banchan though.

I am pretty secure on my decision about UCSD and I am happy about it. I talked to my other friends about their college visits and they seem happy to go to their separate colleges too and I am happy for them. I am not sad yet about separating because all I can think about is the great possibilities out there for all of us and how happy we will be. I kind of already sense who I will remain close with. I won't be disillusioned too much by it.

The only sad thing to me is thinking about how my family will change. After two days, Sophie my baby sister looked different after our trip. Well one it was the first time we were away from her so she only ate very little so her cheeks evened out. But she seemed so much bigger to me in a way. I cannot imagine how she will look when I come back after like five or six months. And the same with the rest of my family. I don't know if I will be homesick or not. Probably very but I just can't imagine it. There has only been one moment in my life where I was away from my parents but at least I was with my siblings during that time. I think I can handle it (more than my father can). He is convinced I cannot live without him. He even proposes the family move to San Diego. When I leave I feel like my siblings and my mom will have to hold him down so he wont go after me. As funny as that is, it is touching. But my family is my family, they will always be there. I do not take them for granted. I just hope they will not lock me up for the time before I go. I want to savor my moments with my friends also because I know after this, we will never be ALTOGETHER again in the same way. It will always be separated after this. I don't feel sentimental in my heart about it yet.

But it is in the back of my mind.

But I don't want to be a Negative Nancy about it. I am a positive person and things always turn out right in the end, even though the boys around me don't always believe it. Why do I keep making friends with guys who are so pessimistic about life?

These songs have been stuck in my head. We made mix cds for the trip and we played these songs over and over again.

"YOU'RE IN!"

i got my acceptance letter to Mills College yesterdayyyy! i was really super excited. but now i'm wondering if i want to go there. i'm going to have to go and visit the campus to solidify my answer, but i'm also going to have to wait to see where else i get accepted to. they are giving me a $15,000 scholarship!! but the tuition is $40,000! i'm afraid i might just end up going to city college if i don't have money... i missed out on my scholarship i was working on all weekend! (well actually, i missed out because i didn't work on it all weekend). but i worked on it ALL monday, instead of studying for my psychology final, and then the site freaked out on me the last 15 minutes, and i couldn't submit it!!!!!! was really bummed out, but that is not going to stop me. i just need to stop procrastinating!

i've been sick this week. finals were killlleerrrr. but i still have my hmong dance to get down for the asian assembly... so not a lot has been taken off my shoulders.

a tout a l'heure!

just dance!

its been a while...

i'm really excited because my paycheck came in last week! but its only about half of my pay, so i only got about $300, and i'm already planning to buy a camera (that's already $200) so i'm only going to have about $100 leftover. which i already know is going to go to my useless spending on clothes and food, and also to my sisters who i've promised to take shopping and whom owe money to, hah :) plus umm.. i still have to get my besties gifts for their birthdays, yes thats you christina and kristina.

however, i'm also really excited about my camera :) because i've been camera deprived for months, and my crazy secret camwhore obsession is about to burst if i dont dress up and take pictures of everyyything around me! but besides that, i've recently found this cool fashion blog place of soompi: chictopia.com! i signed up but i doubt im going to post any pictures soon, because really i have no inspiration or clothes to wear. and i wont have any money to go shopping either, so that sucks a little. i need to find a permanent job now, before school starts. ck, melanie, and i are supposed to go shopping downtown this sunday though, so hopefully that'll work out, and i'll have some nice new clothes.. plus pictures to post up.

i'm getting the same camera as my aunt.

FIDM called me! but i'm scared to talk to the lady who's been calling me, because i have no idea whether or not i even want to go to that college! i dont even know if fashion is what i want to do with my life. she just wants to talk to me about what kind of things i'm interested in and help me, but i'm hesitant to call her back. i'm so horrible. i should call her, but i'm scared. and its not helping that this is the last month of summer and i havent finished my summer reading, or even thought about college. OH SHIT. ahhh... sorry for the french, but i think i am fucked.

everything packs a punch.

I felt the pressure to blog because one of our readers, drake mentioned that he (she?) is disappointed we havent been posting for awhile. One reason we haven't been posting for awhile is 1) pachia and i both are working (part-time jobs yeah but still fills up time...) and 2) no inspiration because summer does not give the creative juices flowing. just the lazy ones.

So a little update on my life (for your entertainment purposes). Lately just been immersed with work, social life and trying to get back on track on thinking about senior year (summer ends for me in almost FIVE WEEKS!!!!). For the last two nights, I just suddenly started to research different colleges and look at scholarships. Again, I feel the desperation of not knowing where I am going to apply to and trying to figure out what major I will be interested in. I found a site where college students review their colleges, though I am not sure how credible it is. It is good enough to get an idea since I believe the best way to find out what a certain college is like from the people who go there. And they even have some comments how they got into that college (the usual package of good gpa, good sat scores, and crazy extracurricular but i see a good emphasis on people saying "BE YOURSELF AND SHOW YOURSELF IN THE APPLICATION"). The big problem I know a lot of people my age are struggling with in applying to college is figuring how to pay for college. I know lots of people are in need of financial aid and one of my friends has decided to go to try obtain an military scholarship because he doesn't think he will get financial aid because his parents make too much but don't want to pay for his college. But he really doesn't want to go into the military at all. Are there other options out there to pay for college besides pulling out crazy loans or trying to get impossible scholarships? I believe there has to be...Oh and I also believe that some students get an unfair disadvantage about the whole "extracurricular" part of college applications. Not everyone knows that you should have lots of "strong extracurricular" activities to get into a good college. And not everyone can do things after school because of ride situations, parents, etc.

I will get over my rant about college application processes because I will have plenty more rants as the year will progress.

So I found this really cute site. Excuse my use of cute. That is how I would describe this site. So it is a site where you can make your own ACTUAL BOOK. You download this bookmaking software and you can make your own book and you just purchase to print it. I think it is really good idea, very creative. You can make books out of your own blog also. But I don't think this blog is worthy making a book out of yet. There were some really cute ideas for books on the site. I would love to make my own book (even if it was only for my own use). Also great way to publish your own photography. OMIGOSH. I just came up with an idea... great way to make memory book. Haha I think I will make this as a memory book for my high school years or my senior year.

I also found this other interesting site called One Word. It gives you one word and you can write anything about this word in sixty seconds. It is a great way to get rid of writer's block.

here is what I wrote for the word of the day: punch.
everything packs a punch. lemonade. drunk men. scary scenes in movies. i like things with a little kick, like fruit punch. i dont like people who throw punches. because abusive behavior is not the way to go joe. punch - is it a abusive word? is it a dangerous word? no idea. seems more like the drink. than the action.
not particularly poetic or anything. here is something someone else wrote (and makes me envy his skill).
He threw the punch right at my face. He missed as I pivoted around on my left foot, transferring the momentum to my right hand- square in the jaw. He fell back, dazed, as another of the man's lackeys came to try and beat me up. Except they didn't. One pulled a gun. He aimed at me, and fired. I regret nothing.
Today, while I was just eating and watching tv, I came across the movie, SAVED! on the OXY channel. It is a movie about "When a girl (Malone) attending a Christian high school becomes pregnant, she finds herself ostracized and demonized, as all of her former friends turn on her". Mandy Moore is one of the friends and she plays one of those psycho Christian girls who thinks praying heals everything (even medically). I did not get to finish it but I kind of liked it. It was pretty interesting. The main girl, Mary truely is believing in Jesus Christ in the beginning but when she gets pregnant and sees how when she prays, Jesus is no longer there and everyone around her turns against her, she loses faith. I think I will download it later and watch it but I just read the whole movie sypnosis on wikipedia but I still would like to see it. But after watching part of this movie, I was extremely attracted to Macaulay Culkin (even though he plays a handicapp) and Patrick Fugit (plays the guy Mary is attracted to). Culkin needs to play in more FILMS!!!

This movie reminded me of how crazy Christians can be. I've gone to church enough times to experience quite a few of those. The message of the movie was pretty much, you don't have to be perfect to be loved by God. And I totally agree. Sometimes, others forget that message.

Time for some more music for you should listen to and love. I have been listening to more Korean music again.

hope you liked the lonnnnnnng post.

one more day.

Tests represent fear-based learning, the opposite of learning based on desire.
-Colman McCarthy

Yesterday, I spent like four hours going over 150 years of US history with Karina, Michelle and Maggie. Hanh came and studied with us for an hour but she was pretty damn drained from her AP CAL test yesterday. Augh one more day till the AP US history test!! I think I am ready. But yeah I am pretty damn tired now. We studied from like 4-8. Then everyone left my house, I did my chores (my mother does not understand the "stress" I go through and I have no time for chores right now) and ate dinner. Then had to do my homework. Why do teachers not UNDERSTAND that we have ap tests and they shouldn't assign homework because we are all trying to CRAM. I fell asleep doing my homework, but I woke up and finished it. Then went to bad at like 11:30 but I couldn't even fall asleep. Then I woke up kind of late this morning, I was really tempted to ask my parents to let me sleep in first period. But they would say no..

I found this really cool website. It is one of those internet projects that get around blogs and the web and are done all over the world. People put all the stuff from their pockets, purses, etc and put in on their scanner and put their face on it. I wish I could do it, but my scanner is broken. And I probably would not have as much cool stuff as these peoples. Just random pieces of gross paper, post-its, pens that are not even usable anymore, etc.

Well yesterday, in one of those random spurts of relaxation or off topic discussion, we were whining about how life is hard and we have spent a majority of our life studying. And how we worry about when we will actually get time to enjoy life. Hanh wants to be a business major and she is like yeah I am going to be corporate ladder and carrying a baby at the same time. Where as, Karina and I are going into science/medicine area. Michelle is going to be a kickass lawyer, and Maggie is going to be an engineer. Power women yes. But man what a headache to think of. Do you think it is bad we take a year after high school? I think so because I want to finish college and graduate school before I TURN 30! But it is freaking crazy. We can't tell how time will go and if we will follow those career paths. We could be living in the country at age 25 and being farmer wives because we are sick of these high stressful lives. It is kind of sad. I think we have lost that kind of mindset where life is easy and happy. That is why I get really frustrated with those people who say things like they want to live in the country and live the simple life. I say "what why?", and I feel like a really dumb materialistic person but after seeing my parents, I really don't want to end up like them. I want to be happy and happiness can mean materialism.

Sometimes I wonder if we just make life sound harder than it really is.

Throw off your chains, students. You have nothing to lose but your backpacks.

lately!

i've been really frustrated, lately. i've been getting really ticked off easily, lately. i've been getting easily emotional, lately. i've been entirely out of it, lately. oh my goodness world, i think i'm in an another strange emo phase!

today i did horrible on my debate in literature. i don't want to go into details, because it was just that bad! it was so embarassing and it was all my fault. i swear, there just must be something wrong with class. i mean, i've done pretty well with a lot of my presentations throughout the year in other classes-- but every single presentation i've had to do in that class has just been a failure! really, i wish all we ever had to do in there was just to write essays. then i'd have an A! and i wouldn't have to worry so much anymore.

i totally agree with ck's post below about college... but i know that since everyone's competitive about it, even if at this moment i'm saying to myself its okay to not get into a UC, i know that that's what i'm going to be striving for, and if i dont get in i will simply be crushed. like today. with my debate. the debate was just all bad. so humiliating. i feel like such a failure! i let myself down, and it sucks. it was like a low-blow to maa face. yeah, i'm a little crushed about it. je suis un petit triste. i feel like giving up even more now. i dont know, i'm just "emo" right now and very vulnerable, so please be nice to me for a while.

i can't think of anything that can make me happy. or completely happy. i'm just feeeling very blaaah right now. stupid school. STUPID SCHOOOL!

ahhhhhhsdg. too many problems in the world. i can't even keep up with my own problems! how can i keep up with problems in the world right now. ahhhhhh. i need to get myself togetherrr!

i miss this friend i have in canada named Mayon. haha. that silly guy. i havent been on aim in forever, and therefore i havent talked to him in forever!

i want go shopping. but i have no money. it's okay though, i don't NEED to go shopping. everybody's freaking out about money, and really, i'm okay with everything i've got. clothes have actually kinda drifted out of my mind.

rants about education, piles of homework, spring allergies, and politics...

Four weeks, it is a countdown to the APs and everyone around me is scrambling. Yeah pretty crazy. So my friend in AP chemistry read this article this weekend and we got onto a rant about the UC and private college system.

Yu has a 4.2 grade-point average and nine Advanced Placement courses on her résumé, along with a healthy lineup of activities including swimming. She applied to five colleges, four in the University of California system: Berkeley, Los Angeles, Davis and her favorite, San Diego. Her fifth application went to a state college, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Three weeks ago, the rejections started coming. In the end, there were five.

I seriously am through with worrying about what I do to make my college app look good. I am just trying to accomplish goals for myself. And you know if stupid UC Berkeley or UC whatever does not take me, I won't die. I can still survive and go to damn community college if I have to because it is about my career, not about the college brand. The only thing that is disappointing is trying to convince my parents about that. But I am tired of this whole working off our asses for a stupid college and has no personal contact with you and only sees you through a piece of paper that you pore your four years into. Since when did going to college and get an education become such a competition. It is ridiculous. Augh. And makes me pissed off when people who get A's in regular classes have higher GPAs than me because I work my ass off to get a fucking B in AP Language and Composition, AND I AM VERY PROUD OF THAT B++!!! for once in my life.

Though I must rant about my ap english teacher assigning us a new writing project (seven different DRAFTS) and piling on the homework when I have a million other things to worry about. SATs in like two/three weeks. GAHHH. And AP Chemistry is like so-so. Bunches of quizzes and tests. And those stupid mandatory California STAR testing is coming up. What a waste of my life.

And spring allergies. I hate them. I hate living in Sacramento during spring season because everyone is sneezing all over the place and hacking up hairballs. And your throat and ears itch like crazy and everyone is all red-eyed like they are high but it is really because the wind has dried out their contacts. So through my first two periods, I am usually conked out by my allergy medicine that makes me drowsy as hell.

And so I have been very oblivious to politics for the last couple weeks. But so what is up with Tibet. Can the Chinese not let go of the Tibetans? I suppose not. I mean before Tibet was just a mountain barrier protector during the times of Chinese imperialism, but those days are over. But with mass industrialization, they are trying to build cities into Tibet and even have tourists in Tibetan region to watch the Tibetans like monkeys. It is really sad. I was reading an article on Global Voices about Chinese bloggers/neitzens slandering this overseas Chinese woman (actually from Hong Kong) and she sided with the Free Tibet side at Duke University in AMERICA. And here is the slander the bloggers replied about her (translated to English):

"Are her parents still in China? Are her parents still even Chinese? If they're still Chinese, tomorrow I'm going to go jump in a manure pit and drown myself."
"If this is for real
I'm going to put the words “race traitor” up on all her relatives' doors
Then her whole family will be called race traitors"

"Notify China Customs, that if they see her, get her right away, and if she still has family, find them, and beat their shameless children to death, so they don't hurt the Chinese people."
Pretty crazy right? A lot of people are probably not aware of this really big issue in China right now. It is pretty hectic. And the effect of it on the Beijing Olympics. The SF Olympic torch running was horrible. There were reports of SABOTAGE by terrorists and everything. They even put a freaking FREE TIBET BANNER ON SF BRIDGE. HOW CRAZY IS THAT. I am surprised that the Tibetan issue is getting more public attention than the Darfur-China. I suppose because of the Chinese nationalists are so quick to fight against the Free Tibetans.

I have such spring fever. Sick of school, sick of friends, sick of family, sick of everyone. Just want to curl in a little ball and sleep forever.

the sisterhood.

Reading Pachia's last entry made me think about my own two younger sisters. I guess over the last couple months my sister, Bella and I have been getting pretty close. Even though we have a five year difference, we still bond pretty well. I guess the bond grew because of our new hobby, thrifting and obsessing over Gossip Girls. We watch that show religiously every Wednesday night on the CW. When I do have money and can drive, I will want to treat both my sisters out. I like spending time with my sisters outside of the home (though the youngest one is still a bit a handle to care for). I was going on my sister's myspace (only 11 and she has one.. jebus, kids grow up too fast these days) to steal one of her pictures of us and I found this:

"
i love shopping. especially with christina. she has great taste. we like to dress vintage, electric. and very asian fob. LOL."

I should be nicer to my sister and set an example. I really did not notice that she really does look up to me. Maybe I am cool... cool enough to be someone's hero. I think my sister is much cooler than I was back in sixth grade. I hope she learns the right things from me and makes the right choices. I know that sixth grade wasn't exactly fun when I went through it so I hope she manages well. I want to protect her as much as I can from the bad things in this world. Even though that is not possible, I hope she will be able to develop a thick skin like I did. Sometimes I feel jealous of my sister though. She is the tall and soon to be the pretty one. Sometimes I just like to give her bad comments to lower her self esteem to make myself feel better. I guess I should stop that. I mean it is a bit childish. Even if I am the one to inherit the short genes and the thick legs. Oh well. I still am the unni.

Anyway, my sister is turning 12 soon so I have to get her a present. She really wants a muffler so I was thinking of buying one for her online. They have so nice ones but they are so expensive. I really would not pay over $12 dollars for a muffler. Maybe I will just buy her a really cute shirt or sweater.
Good thing she is so tall and that we share clothes because anything she has, I borrow and vice versa. That is the good thing for having sisters. I think my sister is lucky to have me to show her how to dress right. I never dressed as cool as she did when I was younger. That is the sucky thing for being the oldest. No one shows you what to do, you have to figure it out yourself. Then the rest of the siblings just follow right along. Good thing I am as cool as I am (did you know being conceited runs in my family? :])

wanted to add to my resolutions:
6. stop being scared about the future (how whimsical is that..)
7. help out your siblings with their homework
8. dont get too addicted to the internet (again.)

I really haven't done any of my homework over break. I am pretty scared about the procrastination building up. I am really scared that my parents have given up on me. Ever time they bring up college I cringe. I am so unsure about my future. It kind of eats at me inside. I don't dwell on it lately but the thought of taking SATS soon, it is making me. I feel like I should be sure and I should have a plan. But I really do not know what the future can hold. I want to make the right choices and make money of course but I want to learn. Really learn.
