finally it is that time

Finally it is that time, the time where WE (pachia and i) ARE SENIORS. Well Pachia is not officially a senior until Tuesday when she starts school. I've already had my first week of school over. Can you believe it? I've had my LAST first day of school already. It is still kind of scary to think of---my last year of high school, no way. The only bad thing is that I am one of the "oldest" in the school. And I don't know like 80% of the schools because they are full of underclassmen. I knew a lot of upperclassmen, even when I was a freshman but now I am an upperclassmen and my underclassmen friends are very few. Well maybe I will make more later when club activities start and I am in quite a few clubs (and officier for every one of them). I am looking forward to making new friends and getting to know my senior classmates who I have not met already.

On Friday, our first senior event was the SENIOR SUNRISE. We had to get to the stadium at 6am. I got there at like...6:20. So the sun was already up but it was still fun to hang out. We just mostly ate pancakes, took lots of pictures and just messed around until school started at 7:45. It was still great hang out time tho.

Do you like our senior shirts?
I think they are okay.

I am looking forward to the events to come, the friends to come, the ups and downs of the year to come. Bring it on I SAY!

goals for senior year.
  1. don't lose sight of your dreams
  2. dont lose sight of your goals
  3. procastination, once again, is BADDD
  4. dont avoid applications and hard work because you are scared of the future
  5. stay focused
  6. keep grades up
  7. dont stress yourself out (or you will have an ulcer)
  8. dont get depressed at all
  9. have fun, and lots of iiiiittttt
  10. dont let anything or anyone stop you from having a kickass year.
  11. go to a jonas brothers concert

So I am freaking addicted to this song. (EDIT: ADDED NUMBER 11)

we can make change happen.

I am a little late (day after) to talk about Obama's speech but I DO NOT believe a speech like his last night can be OVERSHADOWED by Mccain's VP pick, even though it has been. But last night's speech left me an impression that like my AP Government said, "his speech is a speech you will remember for the rest of your life". I do not know if everyone felt that way (probably not), but a connection was made for me when I heard his speech last night.

Well I have been of course watching majority of the Democratic National Convention so of course the previous speakers (Hilary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, Michelle Obama, etc) had set a very high bar for Barack Obama. Finally, it was his turn to convince the people that he is the right person. There is only so much others can say to endorse him but it is up to him to impress and swing the voters in his favor. And I believe he did his job. Hilary Clinton was able to tell her former supporters that they should not swing Republican. Biden assured us that Obama is a good man and Biden did swing many more voters in Obama's favor. I didn't really want to talk about Biden's speech but I DID LIKE IT! I don't know but I just like Biden by looking at him. And he had a great personal story. He made me love him after his speech.

However, in the beginning of Obama's speech, I was kind of bored. He seemed to have a VERY SLOW start and said a lot of cliches and kind of summed up what everyone said in the last couple days. But somewhere, I don't know where but it just PICKED UP and just started getting better, and better and I was on the edge of my seat. AT ONE POINT, I stood up because I was overwhelmed and amazed by his words. Of course I teared up at several points in his speech but I think I teared up in every speech (except Bill Clinton's). The things that struck to me the most was when he had one point where he talked about his family. He said
Because in the faces of those young veterans who come back from Iraq and Afghanistan, I see my grandfather, who signed up after Pearl Harbor, marched in Patton's Army, and was rewarded by a grateful nation with the chance to go to college on the GI Bill.

In the face of that young student who sleeps just three hours before working the night shift, I think about my mom, who raised my sister and me on her own while she worked and earned her degree; who once turned to food stamps but was still able to send us to the best schools in the country with the help of student loans and scholarships.
What struck me about that quote was he was implying that back then, his family struggled but America helped them out, but why can America no longer help us now? He reminded me that
Ours is a promise that says government cannot solve all our problems, but what it should do is that which we cannot do for ourselves - protect us from harm and provide every child a decent education; keep our water clean and our toys safe; invest in new schools and new roads and new science and technology.
I know that being an American, we don't always expect the government to be there. We like to keep a distance from our government but at this time, this period, we need our government desperately. I see the economy, homes, families, and people crumbling before me. I know of the problems that exist in this country and Obama does too and he has pinpointed and addressed every one of them.

And the thing that Obama definetly did what he needed to do was ATTACK McCain ("If John McCain wants to have a debate about who has the temperament, and judgment, to serve as the next Commander-in-Chief, that's a debate I'm ready to have.") and give us SUBSTANCE. And he brought that last night. He showed us that he is ready for the fight, he is ready for those debates with Mccain. And last night, he finally told us what he wanted to do. Although he may have been too specific because of course I questioned where is he going to get the money when we are in a trillion dollar deficit but of course, Mccain is going to have the same problem also. But Obama did a good job of attack Mccain in the right points. It is because of his status quo and that he "doesnt understand" is why he cannot be the right person for the job.

And what I loved most was he brought up this is more about partisan politics (democrats vs. republicans), this is more about abortion (pro-life vs. pro-choice), it is about the common ground, is about the common American goals in life and we need to get back to it. We need to get back to the original ideals of democracy.

We may not agree on abortion, but surely we can agree on reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies in this country. The reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than for those plagued by gang-violence in Cleveland, but don't tell me we can't uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals. I know there are differences on same-sex marriage, but surely we can agree that our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters deserve to visit the person they love in the hospital and to live lives free of discrimination. Passions fly on immigration, but I don't know anyone who benefits when a mother is separated from her infant child or an employer undercuts American wages by hiring illegal workers. This too is part of America's promise - the promise of a democracy where we can find the strength and grace to bridge divides and unite in common effort.
He addressed every issue that we talk about amongst ourselves. Every time he hit an issue that I have discussed with a friend or a family member or a stranger, I though wow he really does know. Once he started talking about the common effort, he just soared from there. And when he talked about all these things and when he said
The times are too serious, the stakes are too high for this same partisan playbook. So let us agree that patriotism has no party. I love this country, and so do you, and so does John McCain. The men and women who serve in our battlefields may be Democrats and Republicans and Independents, but they have fought together and bled together and some died together under the same proud flag. They have not served a Red America or a Blue America - they have served the United States of America.
I felt proud to be an American. And I think during these times when America has such a bad reputation, when everyone has been making fun our own president, when our own citizens cannot even take pride in our president, and when our own soldiers are fighting a hated war, American patriotism has been waning since the great masses of it during Sept. 11th but Obama brought it back to me. I seriously am proud to be an American because through the American dream and the freedoms in this country that someone like Barack Obama can be president and I will be even prouder when he is President. He is reminded me this country is made of individuals united in one effort for our American democracy and ideals. And he has reminded the voters that they all count and the government is there for them. He tied everything that from change, to the American dream, and the promise of America all into his speech and he did it well.

I have greater hope for this country after his speech. And if Obama does not get elected, I will be truely sad for the future of this country.

Oh and I am not going to post the video because it is like 40 minutes long so you can see it on the democratic national convention website or ny times.

Oh and thoughts on the Republicans. I think Mccain would have a better chance with Rominey (though he couldnt because he was too rich) but who the heck is this random woman? Like they said on CNN or whatever (my mom told me this quote), you cant just put a skirt on someone and expect her to be Hilary Clinton. She barely has experience and honestly, if Mccain dies, would you want her to be president? This is a very bad choice for Mccain. I think his VP choice is going to PULL votes away from him. It is already evident that some Republicans are going to vote for Obama because either they liked Obama's speech or because they like Biden. At least if Obama was to get "assassinated" (knock on wood), Biden would be a great president. I am excited for the Republican National Convention! I want to hear this obsure Alaskan governor speak!!!! And Mccain. I actually liked Mccain back in the primaries so lets see if I still like him.

And why am I so interested in the democratic national convention? Because in AP government we have had like at least 30 minute discussions in class about them and they have been EXCITING and i love hear other people's opinions so of course all I have said in this blog, I talked about in class and a lot of people felt similar to me.

I glad I have watched the Democratic National Convention because I feel like this is a moment in history. Watching Obama made me want to cry because I thought of him being president and that is just so historic that I could not even imagine it. It is truely amazing what a revolution this election year is. And I am SAD I CANNOT VOTE AND BE APART OF IT. But I am so glad I witnessed his speech last night because I WILL not forget what he said and I cannot believe for those who did not watch it that they missed such a great opportunity to be truely enlightened.

AND IF ANYONE DISAGREES WITH ME GO AHEAD, I want to hear your response and thoughts. :) I am a friendly debater.

disappointment, disappointment.

"When I heard they were turning the Korean romantic comedy My Sassy Girl into an American movie, I had mixed feelings. First, I was excited because I highly enjoyed the Korean original. But I was also skeptical because it seems many Asian movies translated into an American version simply aren’t as good. Either way, I knew just had to see My Sassy Girl." - Cara de Pescado

uh, same here cara. and ever since summer of 08 has started, i had been wondering a lot about when i was going to start seeing that movie trailer on tv! well, sad to say i went to hollywood videos the other day with the TP gang, and there it was! sitting on the shelf, stiff and new, never been watched. each and every single one of them. it was too disappointing to see them like that. i mean i knew i was going to be disappointed, but it was so bad that it didn't even get featured on tv? yikes, that must've been really bad. i didn't want to watch it, but tommy loved the original so much that he just had to see it (even though he saw the horrendous trailer), so we rented it and watched about 1/4 of it then just stopped altogether, because it was so bad not even marissa or tyler could stand it (and they havent even seen the original!). ahhhh... its good we stopped because the american version would've ruined the orignal version for them, which we're planning to watch the next time we have a TP movie night again.

really though, the movie was just bad. i mean i love jesse bradford and elisha cuthbert, they're great actors, its just that the movie didn't come out right. the humor wasn't there, the characters weren't right. cuthbert's character seemed more like a cracked out crazy lady than the sassy girl she was supposed to be. and although i really loved the movie's appeal with all the bright designs they added on, i just dont think it worked out right. as quoted by tommy, "she was better as a porno star." i guess we should've watched it to the end, but nothing was coming out right, and it just seemed like an odd rushed love story, that didn't really make sense. it just didn't translate right. it felt like you were reading a bad fanfic, those that dont make sense and have no development to it at all. blagh :( its gotta be a big zero for me. but then again you must consider that MY SASSY GIRL is the movie that changed my whole entire life, introduced me to this crazy new world of asian entertainment, that has basically shaped me into the person i am today! and if it wasnt for that movie, ck and i might've never even became friends. yuup, it was that freaking good of a movie. you need to watch it if you haven't yet :)

aside from that, good news you guys. yaaaaaayyyyyyy, i bought my camera today! OH MY GOODNESS. i'm so excited. im going to be posting pictures of evvvvverryyythinggggg.

and i can't believe mccain's vp choice is sarah palin. ahhhhhh! not that i don't like her its just ahhhhhhhh, frustrating. that means he's going to steal votes from obama just because he has a woman on his side!! i was pretty upset about it earlier this morning when i found out, but i guess the steam has cooled off. geeeez. i guess it's because i feel like obama is the only hope for america. we need a little change, don't you think? i dont want mccain to win! of course, yadadaa, we've all heard it, but it's true, it's just going to be bush all over again. why can't they lower the voting age? i guess i'm just going to have to wait another 4 years to vote.

hilary clinton is one strong woman.

Again, I want to discuss my thoughts and opinions about the Democratic National Convention and today I saw Hilary Clinton's speech. That was pretty much the only reason I tuned in today because I wanted to see how she would endorse Obama. Everyone knows Clinton has been a big Obama basher throughout her campaign (maybe even more than attacking Mccain?) and how could she just turn around and say "obama is soooo great, vote for him!".

Well I noticed there was a major standing ovation for her in the beginning. She couldn't even start her speech until at least five minutes passed because people would not shut up. Was it me or was Michelle Obama looked a little stiff lipped while smiling after like five minutes of people not quieting down and cheering Clinton? Well her goal was pretty much supposed to solidify the Democratic party and remind voters that they need to stick together and vote BLUE regardless if they are a hardcore Clinton fan. And there were quite a FEW hardcore Clinton fans (probably 60% women), my mom is a major Clinton fan too. Overall her speech was okay. She did not mention Obama lot and I don't think she really secured that he was the right choice. But I do like the direction she took in her speech. Instead of being cheesy and praising Obama (like the other hundred speakers...), she stated that
"I want you to ask yourselves: Were you in this campaign just for me? Or were you in it for that young Marine and others like him? Were you in it for that mom struggling with cancer while raising her kids? Were you in it for that boy and his mom surviving on the minimum wage? Were you in it for all the people in this country who feel invisible?"
Her speech's purpose was to remind the Democratic Clinton fans that they need to vote because of their beliefs, the changes they want, and not because whether or not they love the presidential candidate. So I am a cheesy person and I did like her personal touches of the couple stories she mentioned her speech like the woman who adopted two autistic children and had cancer and the marine. It is just one of those American things that I can't help falling for. And she tried to highlight that we vote for the "issues" not for the person.

I think she somewhat accomplished the goal of reminding the Clinton fans that they are there for the support of their party. But she did not give the confidence that Obama is the person who can accomplish it all. But I am okay with that because I would have felt she would be a hypocrite if she did. But I think her speech mostly spoke out to her fans. And it was more of thank you message and message to say "please don't vote for mccain or not vote at all because i am not the candidate". But honestly, Clinton was a confident speaker. I think she does have that confident, presidential swagger.

"No way. No how. No McCain."

But to talk about hardcore Clinton fans; CNN interviewed this one lady and she was a HARDCORE fan and she was tearing up talking about Clinton and that she was sad that she saw a real president up there. And she said she did not know what she will do because she was DEFINETLY not going to vote for Mccain but she was not confident in Obama's abilities and she believed in experience and he was not experienced. She said she was very undecided if she was going to vote. And interesting fact...she was African-American.

I think the youth needs to be more interested in politics so I hope I educated some interest in someone. My AP government class has just started (second day of school -___-) and he encourages a lot that we watch the news and keep up to date in politics and it has definetly boosted my interest. And plus it is sooo fun to participate in class discussion about politics. It really fires me up. But I am just a dork like that.

michelle obama, my hero.

So I am one nerdy kid but I watched the Democratic National Convention and the one highlight of the entire convention was Michelle Obama's speech. I had never really heard her speak because I am not an avid follower of the elections but I do keep up to date once in awhile on the presidential candidates. Although I have had a strong leaning toward Barack Obama since primary season, I wasn't exactly sure if he was the "capable" candidate but watching Michelle Obama's speech made me admire the qualities of the Obama family and Barack Obama as a future president.

Her speech literally made me tear up and CRY at some moments. Well I can emotional when watching things on tv but her sincerity and her speech that was straight from the heart--not just something written by some behind the scenes political speech writer-- and it made me tear up. Well I also teared up at the dedication to Ted Kennedy even though I barely know who he is besides that he is a senator. But Michelle Obama's speech truely touched me. Throughout the speech I was thinking "oh maybe this is some ploy to get the voters with that pathos (emotional) appeal" but when she was telling the story of her childhood and her career and her husband's, I realized that Michelle and Barack Obama truely care for their community, their country and the people around them. And even though they could have had prosperous careers in law, they first decided to give back to their community and help others. To me that is a great thing because I would do the same thing. I could feel their strong sense of helping others. And what I loved about her speech was that she was confident, calm and so real. Other previous speeches were just citizens or other delegates promoting Barack Obama through their experiences or what they saw in him. And although they were regular citizens, I did not connect without because their speeches seemed very pre-planned and impersonal, but Michelle Obama's was so personal. And the fact that her and her husband both came from blue-collar families and were able to prosper on their own, it truely touched and illustrated the American dream.

"And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you're going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them, and even if you don't agree with them."

"
They'll tell them how this time, we listened to our hopes, instead of our fears. How this time, we decided to stop doubting and to start dreaming."

"Barack stood up that day, and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about "The world as it is" and "The world as it should be." And he said that all too often, we accept the distance between the two, and settle for the world as it is - even when it doesn't reflect our values and aspirations. But he reminded us that we know what our world should look like. We know what fairness and justice and opportunity look like. And he urged us to believe in ourselves - to find the strength within ourselves to strive for the world as it should be. And isn't that the great American story?"

I really wish I could vote. The best part of her speech that struck me was when she talked about how Barack wanted to remind us that we often accept the world as it is even if we don't like it, but we need to learn to NOT settle for that and change the world to how WE WANT IT TO BE LIKE.

I do not care if others don't like Barack Obama for his lack of details, his lack of experience, those words and ideals of his struck a chord in me. And I believe in him.

p.s. i cant wait to see how the republican national convention will change my mind. can you beat that mccain?

why do we do this to ourselves?!?!!?

I am feeling like every other high school teen right now--STRESSED OUT, wanting to CRY, pissed at the world and my future teachers for this year and MAD at myself-- because two days before I start school and I AM NOT DONE WITH MY SUMMER HOMEWORK!!!!! Well I have half done, I just have to write reactions for like 10 articles and write one essay on my book of choice. So it isn't that b ad right? Well I cannot get into the habit of DOING IT. I HAD plenty of time to do it, BUT I DID NOT DO IT. I feel horrible. My worst nightmare is waking up one morning and realizing school has started and I AM NOT DONE WITH MY SUMMER HOMEWORK! I swear I have had one of those dreams and I woke up in a cold sweat and then I frantically look at my calendar and I sigh with relief to see school has not started yet. I am not too worried because I can finish it righhhht... But my problem is that my mother thinks I finished my summer homework so I am trying to finish it without her knowing because I do not want to hear her excessive whining and nagging and have her ground me for the first week of school. Sigh... at least it is the "last time" i will have to do this because I AM A SENIOR!!!!!

Why do we do this to ourselves? Stress ourselves and waste time not doing the things we should be doing. Well half of me is like I DON'T because I WORKED MY ASS OFF ALL YEAR so let me be lazy this summer and the other half of me is like "whyyyy can I not be a perfect student and get it finished early like the rest of the smart assholes who shove their homework-free time down my throat". Well that is just me, I get it done anyway. Today was my only off day because I work Sat&Sun before school starts and I was thinking yesterday "I AM GOING TO DO IT!", but I didn't. Sat on my ass today and watched tv and then went out for a bit and then came home and watched more tv. BUT I DID PRINT out my articles so I can read them and then type out the reactions later.

The song kind of describes how I am feeling right now (but related to school haha).

So I really want suspenders, like in this type of style. I am slightly over super mini skirts. I like to play up the slightly over the knee long skirt. And of course everything looks better with TIGHTS!

Speaking of skirts, I WANT THIS SKIRT. So cute. COS beige skirt.

I am kind of getting into that plain look that is still pretty chic. Always need the awesome basics like plain scoop neck or v-neck shirts that fit well or are loose that are really comfortable but still you can make an effort to look good with a bright floral skirt. Like so,

Not my favorite floral skirt, but you get what I mean.

Today I went to my friend's house and I went through her clothes and she had one of those old long brown with some floral pattern skirts that she never wears anymore and I was like, dude you can still WORK IT! I told her she just had to put a plain shirt/tank and tuck it in and voooliaaa, she had a new style to wear it and she was like "ahhhh...i like!". I love putting together outfits for people and showing a new fashion perspective on how to wear things! I LOOOOVE going through people's closets.

I LOVE THAT SKIRT because of the BOW. I am kind of obsessed with big bows that are displayed simply like that right now. Another chill but still nice outfit.

All outfits courtesy of f21.

Talking about clothes makes me feel better. How bout you? And I am still succeeding in doing everything but my SUMMER WORK! ohhh well. I guess I will go think about doing it. But I will still be victorious in the end :)

a little input.

i always wonder what i should write about in my about me on myspace. i used to sit there and write and write and re-write and re-write, to the point where i just erased everything and had nothing at all like i had never even tried-- even though i had just sat there for thirty minutes thinking soo hard about what to say. that's the reason why, if you go to my myspace, i dont have anything written. because i dont know how to describe myself. how can i? how can i put who i am into short words for the whole entire world to read? if i write one thing down about myself, i'd leave out another. i dont want to do that, i want people to know every part of me, not just one part of me. anyways the point of the matter is, that i finally figured out something i could write about! but i just spent so much time writing this out, that i'm not so sure i want to spend some more time writing out that. besides, i'd feel so weird talking about how i was going to write about something and then actually write it out. ahhh. i'm soo weeeiiird.

i went back to my old middle school today, with my sister and my cousin to pick up their schedules. it was so weird. if felt like it wasn't even my school anymore! i was sad that i didn't have that proud feeling i had just a couple years ago, being at my school. i remember when i first started high school-- i absolutely hated it and wanted so bad to go back to my middle school days so much. those were the days! but today it felt so different, like it was never even my school. our old principal is gone... my publications teacher is like, what? the vice principal now? hahaha. i realized that it wasnt the school that made it what it was to me, it was actually the people. and that for some reason.. stunned me :)

ahhhh. today was such a bad day. it just got a little worse. but just a few moments ago a little light was shed on me.

THE KITE RUNNER WAS SOOO AMAAZING! it's one of those good stories, that just make you feel good after you finish it. like chicken noodle soup for the soul.. except those stories never really made me feel that great.. although i was only in like 4th/5th grade when i read those books.

ahhhhhhh. i hope days to come feel better. i worry too much. love ya. byeeeeee.

when i was a freshman...

So for the second year in the row, I am in Link Crew at my high school which is a program where juniors/seniors help out freshman and help them get used to high school at freshman orientation. Last year I did it as junior and it kind of sucked. One reason was because on the first day of training, the two teachers who were in charge of it told us that Link Crew was no longer a "three day" thing, it was a YEAR LONG commitment. Usually we just do the summer orientation and training for two days and that is it, but last year was the first time they were going to try out a freshman mentoring program which would be once a week and we would meet with a group of freshman and a teacher. And of course none of us really signed up for that reason so we were all a bit annoyed. And I was very hesitant to sign up this year because I knew I would have to mentor freshmen throughout the whole year and last year's program was the first time and it was a horrible start. But I was "committed" because I am a psycho and wanted to put down "TWO YEARS OF FRESHMAN MENTORING!" on my college applications ( the things we do for college apps right? ).

So I wasted two days of my summer "training" for orientation and so TODAY was FRESHMAN ORIENTATION. So basically, two link crew leaders take 10-15 freshmen in a group and you sit in a class (no teachers) and you lead these group activities to break the ice, give tips on high school life, learn more about people you may or may not have known before, and just have "fun". I actually had an AWESOME partner this year and he helped me out a lot (and he was nice) and I had a GREAT GROUP of freshmen this year. They weren't the most talkative bunch but I had no obnoxious, "knuckleheads" and they were all pretty much respectful. So we did almost all the activities that were supposed to and pretty much just talked a lot about high school, what they expected out of high school, what they were nervous about, our experiences in high school and me and my partner (+ another junior who was in student gov't who helped out) just gave them MANY MANY tips about high school.

Being a senior, I realized so many things about high school and tips for the survival of high school and I hope they retained SOME of my advice because it is damn good advice. Last year, I thought the activities we had to do with the kids were pretty stupid like playing "count-off" where we count of 1-20 by random order of people but this year...I actually LIKED THE GAMES and thought they were pretty useful and most of my kids in my group ENJOYED the games. It was a great way for people to get to know people they wouldn't normally hang out with.

And seeing the incoming freshman, I realized the same qualities I had when I was their age--- shy, quiet, not the type to raise their hand and volunteer (at all). Pretty much typical quiet nerdy Asian girl, but in reality, that was not the real me. People in middle school knew me as loud, slightly obnoxious and very gossipy (yes very). But when I got to my high school, I knew almost no one and I just made quick friends who I really didn't like that much just to have people to hang with at lunch. But I realized by sophmore year, the way to have fun in school is DO STUFF and be OPEN and that is what I did and OH YES I AM GLAD I DID because I would not be where I am today if I had not. Now I have friends who I am very close with even though we have known each other for two years (little more, little less) and I am so many freaking clubs/extracurriculars that times flies by so fast. And now I am back to the type of person I really am--showy, always wants to be person to open their mouth and be opinionated and show off my smarts.

I have ONE WEEK until school starts. ohmyjeebus. And I still have summer homework to worry about that. I got my schedule today after freshman orientation and I am satisfied, pretty crazy schedule though. But I am just nervous and excited at the same time. Talking enthusiastically about how much I love my school reminds me how I am excited for the things to come, the events to happen, those memorable LAST THINGS and just doing as much as I can because I do not want to miss out. High school really is what you make it, and I am glad I can look back and say I have made high school into a great experience---not the super AWESOME life changing experience where I will pine for the good old high school days----but into the great growing experience. Four years seems so short and long at the same time. In my senior year I have just only realized the things I COULD HAVE DONE, the classes I COULD HAVE taken, the people I COULD have met. But this year, I am determined to make those could haves HAPPEN!!!!

my schedule for this year.
term one -
pre cal, pol science honors, econ, intro treb choir
term two - pre cal, eng lit ap, TA, intro treb choir
term three - physics, ap gov, lab tec, cal ap
term four - physics, ap gov, lat tec, cal ap

And to catch up what I have been doing, yes I have been watching the Olympics. Though I am not a big fan of swimming... I love watching badminton, basketball, SOOOOOOCCCCEEEEEERRRR, ROWWWWINGGG IS AWESOME, white water rafting, etc. I don't have particular favorite athletes I just watch whatever is on tv and I am just amazed about how ripped these athletes are (even badminton players!). I am just amazed by them. Oh and yes my parents are sooo estatic that South Korea is third in have most medals because that one guy who won swimming gold. Phelps has certainly made America proud.

what in the world happened to christina?!?!!

i've been waiting to see a new post from her, but every time i check on here, there's nothing! so guess what, i'm taking the lead and pushing her to the side. hah, hah... i'm so awkward, and i'm just kidding christina. love ya!

anyways, i've been reading THE KITE RUNNER and it is such a sad story. when i saw the trailer for it (i think last summer) in the movie theaters, i knew it was going to be a sad story, but i didnt know it was going to be this type of a sad story. i was too surprised by the content of it all, and i havent finished the book yet, but i already feel like it might turn out to be a favorite... unless it has a reaaaally stupid ending that i just cannot deal with (which countless books have been guilty of). i havent seen the movie yet, but i dont think i want to. i hate sad movies. i dont want to cry my eyes out and actually see these things happening. besides, i feel like this story that can't be made into a movie.

today i am at my aunts house. we went to the sunsplash arcade mania, for my cousin's 13th birthday, and it was fun. im super tired though, and my eye is sore :( afterwards we ate at burger kings, and i FINALLY TRIED THOSE APPLE FRIES.. only to be disappointed at the fact that they were only apples... and not REAL FRIES! i'm sorry, but i seriously thought they were fries! just that instead of them being made out of potatoes they were made out of apples. yes, i guess i was expecting too much, because even my little cousin knew they were plain old apples. i ended up sharing my aunt's fries with her, because really, you cannot eat a burger without fries! it feels so incomplete!

we watched this show called "PSYCHIC KIDS: Children of the Paranormal" when we got back home. my uncle was talking to me about it last night, and so he found it on youtube today and we watched it. it was pretty interesting, although creepy. hopefully i can sleep tonight. if you didn't know, i'm pretty much a chicken.

but aside from that did i mention we also went LASER TAGGING and GO CART RACING? it was fun. yes, fun. except i kept coming in last in the race, and that was a bummer. i felt really lame. but i guess i scored okay for laser tag. i'm not a pro or anything so i won't brag... but i've got to say, i've got some skills.

oh yes and we watched HANCOCK last night. i really liked that movie. i really did. it's going on my favorites list. i thought the ending was perfect, just way too sad. i love will smith. he's such a good actor.

ahh, to add onto my random ranting... the other day i was browsing through fashion blogs, and i found this wonderful picture of all these yummy chanel cupcakes! i swear, the only brand i can actually say i adore is chanel. and i'm not even that big of a fan, but still it gets me everytime. so anyways, i thought i'd share :) they're so adorable.

a little sad today.

so if i dont get to go to my high school, then i'm going to be sad. because i now live out of the district, there is a chance that i wont get to go to my beloved high school anymore! ahh. im so depressed about the idea. i love HISP and my school. its like my home. i havent finished my summer readings yet, but just the idea of me possibly not being able to attend school there, is making me not want to do all the hard work for nothing. im so gloomy now. technically we still do live down there... our house is down there. we actually have two houses down there! we're just living up here... ahhhhhh, whyyyyyyy? we're going to be moving back down into the city anyways? why cant we just do it now??? sighhh, my goodness.

i didnt get my camera yet, either. i started a bank account, so i had to put atleast $100 into my savings and have atleast $100 in my actual account, which left me with only $100 as well! and i've already spent most of the money on clothes for myself and my sisters, along with food. so basically i am broke again. hahaa.

but really all that is depressing me is the idea of not going to school with my frieeeeeeeeeeendsssssss! (and my boyfriend). ahhhhh. i hate it. i hate it alll!!

somebody can cheer me up and buy me this pretty ring.

but it still probably wont help. uuggh. come on, its my senior year!

just dance!

its been a while...

i'm really excited because my paycheck came in last week! but its only about half of my pay, so i only got about $300, and i'm already planning to buy a camera (that's already $200) so i'm only going to have about $100 leftover. which i already know is going to go to my useless spending on clothes and food, and also to my sisters who i've promised to take shopping and whom owe money to, hah :) plus umm.. i still have to get my besties gifts for their birthdays, yes thats you christina and kristina.

however, i'm also really excited about my camera :) because i've been camera deprived for months, and my crazy secret camwhore obsession is about to burst if i dont dress up and take pictures of everyyything around me! but besides that, i've recently found this cool fashion blog place of soompi: chictopia.com! i signed up but i doubt im going to post any pictures soon, because really i have no inspiration or clothes to wear. and i wont have any money to go shopping either, so that sucks a little. i need to find a permanent job now, before school starts. ck, melanie, and i are supposed to go shopping downtown this sunday though, so hopefully that'll work out, and i'll have some nice new clothes.. plus pictures to post up.

i'm getting the same camera as my aunt.

FIDM called me! but i'm scared to talk to the lady who's been calling me, because i have no idea whether or not i even want to go to that college! i dont even know if fashion is what i want to do with my life. she just wants to talk to me about what kind of things i'm interested in and help me, but i'm hesitant to call her back. i'm so horrible. i should call her, but i'm scared. and its not helping that this is the last month of summer and i havent finished my summer reading, or even thought about college. OH SHIT. ahhh... sorry for the french, but i think i am fucked.

how i waste my summer days.

This is how my life has been for the past three months: home-work-home-work-home-home. Sometimes a few instances where I actually go out but my regular schedule is just staying home and blowing my mind out with mindless summer re-runs, youtube videos, regular internet activities, and reading blogs/making blogs.

So here is a glimpse of my daily entertainment:
youtube.
so the people who i subscribe to are kevjumba (LOVE THIS GUY!), ndtitanlady, ninjadros, wongfuproductions. and then i just watch whatever i come across or friends recommend. the other day while browsing through my bookmarked list of blogs, i came across this hilarious youtube series, blogged by iliketoforkmyself. so i guess some korean guys (from korea of course) made a site where they actually teach you how to "bokko" dance which is the dance style koreans used to dance in clubs in like late 90s. i like it better than the wannabe "sexy" style they try to do in clubs now.

I would like to mention, I FREAKING LOVE how they have such serious faces and are so in synch. That takes really effing talent man. My goal is to show off some bokko moves in the club when I turn of legal age.

I love vloggers. They bring up entertaining subjects that we all randomnly think about. Watch what he says about the "sneeze-fart".

Who doesn't love a little KEVJUMBA? This guy is awesome. Though I have some feelings he has some internal issues about chicks. I feel sorry for his dad.

television.
of course i am addicted to all those old summer reruns on tv. especially fresh prince of bel-air, roseanne, and george lopez on nick at nite. I was never really into Fresh Prince of Bel-Air until my brother started watching it and he would never let me change the channel and so I started watching and WOOOOOW. WILL SMITH IS FREAKIN HILARIOUS. And I know it is not just because of the script, he makes the show FREAKING AMAZING. Props to that man. He is clearly talented. If I can still laugh at jokes made back in the '90s, it is still hilarious. And this move made me almost piss my pass.

------------random rants about tv shows
So I finally watched the last episode of Avatar: The Last Firebender. Yes I am a nerd, but I really like that show though I was not a consistent follower. For an ending, it was so-so. Pretty typical ending but the journey through that episode was exciting. I was getting really into. I thought it was pretty nice how Ang did not kill the Firelord but just took away his powers...whoo what a surprise! I feel kind of an idiot to not think about that option. I felt really bad for Azula when she was going crazy and lost. It was pretty sad. Anyway, I have a feeling it is not the "end" because what the heck happened to Zuko's mom? And what kind of monk is Ang if he gets to kiss a girl? All sorts of confusing!!!

And I AM OUTRAGED THAT MICHAEL SIMON IS REPLACING ROBERT IRVINE FOR DINNER IMPOSSIBLE !!!!! I love Dinner Impossible but it is only good with a British accent and huge muscles! Who the heck is Michael Simon. Some nobody who won Iron Chef. I love Dinner Impossible...I cannot watch it with some guy with no accent. I am not sure if the new guy will make food enjoyable for me again.

I finally finished one portion of my summer work. I finished reading The Stranger, and I will talk about in another post. It made me think about my opinion about the death penalty. So thanks for reading another blab post thrown together.
