me llamo panda joe.

So I think I am struggling in Spanish 3 pretty bad. So my teacher has this joke. A TA for another Spanish class came in to tell our teacher something and the teacher pretended not to know what he was saying. He starting saying in Spanish that our class was SPANISH only. Too bad the TA was not in Spanish and he didn't understand what the teacher was. So the teacher said "repeat after me, ME LLAMO PANDA JOE" and he told him to repeat that to the other teacher. Well ME LLAMO PANDA JOE in spanish is my name is stupid. One time another ta came in and our teacher tried to do the same thing but instead the TA was like "my name is not panda joe?" and we all started busting up laughing. What a smart kid.

So I feel like posting a MUSIC post today. I was discovering new music so I shall share with you. My music tastes range so I explore around different genres.

Interesting COVER of Nelly's "Hot in Herre"; very ironic

I do like this cover though.

The Ting Ting - Great DJ

I haven't been interested in this genre for awhile because I've been more into acoustic and ballady songs lately. But of course a little electronica/dance is always fun. I love the "ah-ah-ah-ah" parts and the use of anaphora (trying to get used to using rhetoric vocab for ap english 11)

Another UK hit artist who is going to probably be a one hit wonder in America. Though UK artists are usually pretty good. I do like this song. Nice bass background with kind of a 90's ballady feel? Sounds oldschool dont you think? But I still like it. Hopefully this wont be an excess pop radio hit though.

Stefanie Heinzmann - My Man is a Mean Man

Who agrees with me that her voice and look totally do not match? It is like old Avril Lavigne SK8R BOI look + Amy Winehouse-esqa voice. Yeah she is supposed to be a German Amy Winehouse but I like Amy Winehouse's smoky voice better than hers except Amy's look is way worse than this chick's. I like the song though.

Travis Barker Remix of Soulja Boy "Crank Dat"

A pretty awesome rock remix of Soulja Boy. If only you could take out Soulja Boy's voice. Damn they are annoying.

So I discovered this Korean hip hop piano composer. He is called "July". No idea why he would pick that name but I like the instrumentals a lot. It is good to listen to when you just need peace, calm, and great to do your homework with. Did you know you learn better while listening to something with beats?

Here are some other songs I play non-stop.

Yeah I'm starting to upload stuff on my imeem so go and listen. I'll add more stuff later. I feel like my musical taste is lacking so feel free to suggest songs! I love new music. I listen to anything and everything. And who has seen the new MacBook Air commerical with the Yael Naim song? Yeah what a freaking SWEET looking laptop. IT IS SO THIN. Yeah I am addicted to things that are so thin looking. Technology is amazing. Yeah and LISTEN TO THE FERGIE song on the music for your ears on the side. I LOVE THAT SONG. the PIANO is AWESOME. I get convinced more and more that Fergie can sing.

So I think this bag is awesome.

Oh yeah, THANK YOU CLOVER for your comment. I like your livejournal blog too.

i love how mr. cosgrove can take simple things that sound like nothing, and fill it up with tons of emotion and meaning you never even knew existed within it. i enjoy his lectures in class a lot. although most of the time, i'm usually zoning out or watching other people fall asleep, for the most part i pay attention. and admire him a lot. if i could aspire to be anything when i grow up, i'd dream about being a mr. cosgrove. he's so cool. it's probably really weird that i'm a sixteen year old girl, writing about her literature teacher on her internet blog, but it's kind of amazing how much his class has affected my way of thining, and even my freaking life. if i could just sit all day and listen to mr. cosgrove go on about literature and all the deeper meanings behind it, i probably would. i'd rather do that then learn pre-calculus or physics : i mean, even if he's just another teacher lecturing about things that a million other teachers out there could be lecturing about as well, it's just amazing. i don't even know him, or have i ever even had a real conversatin with him like i have with other teachers... but i think i've fallen in love with his ideals. haah. whatever that means. he's such a cute old man (and most girls in my class agree with me on that too!). his class always makes me think outside the box. but it only works when i'm in his class. other than that, i'm pretty much blank. which is why now i'm going to write on and on about nothing romantic or transcendentalist at all!
lately i've been lurking around on soompi's beauty and fashion section a lot. i've become obsessed with "the official what did you wear today" thread. and my goodness, why do people dress so nice? i'm jealous. i have no money to buy cool fabric to cover my skin with. why's everyone so educated? i feel stupid. people in that section talk about this brand and that brand, and really, i'm just sitting there dumbfounded. i know nothing to that extent! i've become out of touch with music, fashion, ... culture... okay yeah i'm done with listing things. my point is, why don't i have an area that actually freaking interests me? i'm like, all around, everywhere, a big mess, that's kappooosh all over the walls, and floors, and dripping out the windows, i don't even know where i'm going. i like literature and writing, but heck no do i want to pursue a career in that. i'm not good enough at all. of course fashion has always interested me, buuuut, i'm not sure what i can do with that, or if i even want to go in that direction. and doing something humanitarian? i'm so out of touch with things that are going on in the world right now. do i even have the courage or the voice or the will to do anything? i'm disappointed. yeah i can be creative, but i'm probably not artsy, i havent really tried anything but photoshop and photography. and although i was good at photoshop, i guess my interest for it has faded away with the past summer... and i havent really even gotten serious with photography, so i wouldn't even really know if i'm interested in that at all. wow. i feel like, i need to get myself together... but then again i'm only sixteen years old... but then again, sixteen is almost eighteen years old. i just hope that i find a passion for something soon. do i even need to? as long as i'm happy everything will be okay. i dont know... i want to contribute to the world in some way.
anyways, i hope these soompier's don't mind me posting up their outfits on my blog. i'm sure they don't mind other people seeing it, since that's the whole idea behind posting it up. i'll just credit them with their username, so i'm giving them credit. there are these guys on soompi that dress whack! it's hot. i wish all guys dressed like them. nooo. then it wouldn't be special.

BeefOtoko

okay well, i was going to post more, but soompi has an ips error. so i guess that's all.

QUOTE (keirasketch @ Jan 25 2008, 07:38 AM)
I think beefotoko, kerni, rich, & dachink should just create a thread D:

so all other guys on soompi can dress sexy too. and again, I'm serious.

i bought that junior prom dress i was raving about on the post below. but it's giving me a headache. and i need to go read the great gatsby.

his voice really is amazing.

slow motion noise

i am a very picky person! i probably spent over twelve hours shopping for my junior prom dress this weekend. all of the dresses i tried on were cute... but ehh, i guess i didnt really find one that blew my mind. well, my junior-prom-dress-excavation started out on saturday afternoon, when my aunt picked me up and took me to arden to go search for dresses at macy's. yeah, i know! that's probably the worst place to go if you don't want a dress that you know five other girls will be wearing at the dance... but they did have some cute stuff. i went through bascially all of the stores at arden, but couldn't really find anything. so when we went back to forever21 for the second time, i stumbled upon the cutest little thing! luckily they had one small left! but unfortunately when i tried it on, it was too big for me! not to mention the fabric on the back was a little scratched up as well. i was kinda bummed because it was only $30, but i actually considered buying it anyways! however... i knew i was gonna go to midtown the next day (today) to go check out the cute little boutiques, so i decided not to get it and just wait to see what other dresses would pop up. besides.. other girls could've possibly bought that same dress for jp as well. but i dont know.. do girls usually go to f21 to buy jp dresses? (other than me, of course. lol.) anyways.. after going through atleast five stores today i decided that i wanted to go back and buy the white dress from f21. however this time, i wanted to check out the downtown plaza and see if they had it because i knew arden wouldn't have it. but unfortunately they didn't and i was reaaaally bummed. i kinda had all of my hopes set on that freaking dress for a while. ahhh. it wasn't online either so the lady at the desk said that they probably weren't going to get in anymore shipments : ... whatever though. hehe, because i came home and checked online again, except this time in the "blouse" section and eyyyyyy, i found it :) now i'm super excited, and i'm going to call up f21 tomorrow to see where they have it in stock. i know what you're thinking. why not just order it online? well, i would... but then they're out of smalls online! so hopefully the stores will get smalls shipped in, and i can just buy it and go get $5 alterations at this place by my aunts house :) yayyyy. if that doesnt work... then i'm just going to have to throw all of my hopes and dreams for that dress away and try to find something else-- maybe something even better.

but yeah, that was my weekend. i'm just glad that finals are over, and now everything has started over fresh for school. i got really bad grades this semester... it was a really bad semester. i guess you can say that i was just really distracted and was going through a lot of weird emotional stuff that kept me from focusing on school. i'm really hoping and pushing myself to do better this semester though. junior year is serious stuff though, and i can't let my stupid junioritis get in the way of my futuuuuuuuure. lol. my grades were so bad, i'm not even going to say what they were. i'm disappointed in myself, but i deserve it. i did baaad. really bad. all i can do now, is work hard this semester and make up for it. hopefully i can do that.

tommy really likes this band.

aaand, this is about all of the time i have to blog. or, this is all i have to blog about.

blogwhoring.

So I am a blog addict. Well, I have no life pretty much on this Friday night so yeah I just feel like blabbing on random-ness. So as you can see, there is a counter on the side of our blog. Currently we are at 304 (probably at 10% is Pachia and ME but I took my IP off the blog counter list just a couple days ago). Well 304 views and how many comments? Probably only like four comments that were not from PACHIA or ME. Yeah, we are lame but COMMENT you guys because it makes us sad that no one cares to comment. Or maybe we just have not enough interesting topics to comment on. Oh yeah thank you LONG for commenting.

empress ck says (8:58:52 PM): i just read your comment
empress ck says (8:58:54 PM): AND IT IS LAME
HIM(8:58:57 PM): hahahaha
empress ck says (8:58:58 PM): ONE WORD?
HIM (8:59:02 PM): sorry
HIM (8:59:05 PM): all i can think of
HIM (8:59:22 PM): translation of boom - very exciting, makes me wanna read

So I am now a faster internet speed. That calls for a CELEBRATION! I have been surviving on dial-up for the longest time at home and it freaking sucks. My mom finally called in to get DSL. Too bad clubbox isn't as fast as it used to be. I remember the good old days of 54 KB and now I can barely get 20 KB. So bittorrent is my love of course. Since getting my faster internet speed, YOUTUBE has of course been an addiction again. So I think this is the cutest thing ever:

I am not much of a WONDERBANG fan but they are cute together.

So I obsessively check our blog patrol data now and this is what I thought was super cool:

Sorry for the incredibly pixelated picture since the uploaded picture always comes up small. But can someone tell where is Brunai Darussalam? So data is United States (172), B.D (3), Japan (3), Australia (5), Singapore (7), Canada (11). Pretty snazzy to me.

So I wish I could be as cool as these people :

I am terribly UN-PHOTOGENIC and I am not lying. I am just not myspace whore material. I'm not good with angles, photoshop, etc. That is why I hate posting pictures of myself. I just like looking stupid and silly because that is when I am at my cutest. HAHA.

So here is some real hip-hop for y'all, cuz everyone needs to be more educated.

letter about myself to my english teacher

Dear Ms. G.,

I would like to graciously introduce myself to you through this letter. Usually when teachers ask me to write extra personal information besides my name, number, address, and my parents' numbers, they ask the basic things like my hobbies, my favorite things to do, how many siblings I have, etc. I will try and answer those typical questions and MORE.

I have never really had a clear definition of hobby. As defined by dictionary.com, a hobby is “an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation". I always assumed a hobby was something like collecting stamps or baseball cards. Well, an activity for relaxation for me is going on the computer. The computer is pretty much hours of endless entertainment for me, until my eyes start to hurt. I also like to watch movies and lots of tv when I am not busy doing my endless amounts of homework or stressing about not wanting to do my homework. If watching trashy soap dramas is a hobby, it would be mine. I also like to watch Asian dramas (with or without subtitles) which can be even trashier than American soap dramas. It is way for me to worry about someone else than worry about myself or the chaos in my life. I love going to the movie theater (though they are overly overly overpriced) when I can because I love the movie theater experience, minus the loud people, the cellphones, and the overpriced food. There is nothing more relaxing than being immersed in a film next to people you can enjoy it with.

I will try and be brief about the favorites. My favorite color is purple at the moment. I would say a dark purple would be most appropriate. Not maroon or lilac, but a deep rich purple. I don't have a favorite book because I've read a lot of books and they all fall into different categories of favorites. I am a fan of series like HARRY POTTER and the Chronicles of Narnia. I haven't met many books that I haven't liked, except for Moby Dick. That was a boring book. My favorite types of books are historical fiction and just plain fiction. I dislike most fantasy books and scientific-fiction. I don't have a favorite artist but at the moment I have been listening to Colbie Caillat, Clazziquai, and Paramore. I don't have any particular taste for music. I actually think country music is okay. I listen to everything and anything. International artists included, from Europe to Asia to America. Music is food for the soul. I don't have a favorite food because there is just too much food to be a favorite. For dinner, I had a Korean pizza which consists of a flour mix of seafood, green onions, potatoes, mushrooms, etc. You cook it kind of like a pancake actually. My favorite show would probably just be the Food Network channel in general. It is the most entertaining and delicious thing to watch. Too bad I get hungry every time I watch it which leads to late night snacking. Though I am pretty nerdy, I do like to have fun. The best thing to do when hanging out with my friends is karaoke or make videos. It is the silliest and best thing to do when we are bored.

And now more about me. My birthday is April 30th. I was actually supposed to come out as a boy but miraculously, I was a girl. My parents didn't have a name planned out for me so my mom picked my name from one of the baby bags they used to hand out with names on them. I am the oldest of four children, soon to be five. I have a younger brother who is a freshman at Sheldon. My two little sisters (12 years old & 9 years old) go to Mary Tsukamoto Elementary. My mother is currently pregnant with another child and it was a total accident and now I don't think I am going to college because of it. My father is Korean. He came from South Korea in the late 1980s. My mother is Laotion and came during the mid-1980s? My mother's father was a general in Laos and they were fleeing the Communists. Because my parents are two different ethnicities, we speak English primarily at home. However, my household is more Korean influenced and my mom can cook more Korean food than she can Laotion food. I am not fluent in either language and but my vocabulary is growing a bit since I am more interested in learning their languages than before.

As for goals in life, I would like to go to college of course. I will get into a college and hopefully I will be satisfied with that college. I don't particularly stress over which college, just as long as I get the education I want. For my whole life it has been planned that I was to be a doctor (thanks to my very ASIAN parents) and that plan does suit me for the most part but I will leave it up to God to see what happens and I am sure I will end up fine either way. I just want to gain knowledge and help people. I am particularly interested in social works and helping others. I do have a passion for English and history. History is one of my favorite classes and I am pretty good at it. I am interested in world events and I do read the newspaper from time to time or I look it up online, though I am disappointed that most of my peers do not care as much so I can talk to very few people about. It is funny, but my friend and I are the only two people our age that we know of who actually keep up to date about the presidential caucuses.

I thank you for actually reading this crazy random letter and hope you enjoy it. Hopefully you have gained some insight into my personality and excuse me for the grammatical mistakes. Towards the end of this letter, I started to get lazy with the commas and periods so I am sure you saw a lot of run on sentences but it just makes it reading it all the more fun. And I am going to feel really lame when I get to class and be the only student with a two page letter. (Besides Tiffany who I just talked to on AIM about this letter)

Sincerely,
Christina Kim

there's gotta be something for my soul somewhere"

I was watching something on tv and the song "way back into love" came on and I remembered how much I loved that song. When my sister and I watched Music and Lyrics, we obsessively always went back to the part where Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant were recording the "way back into love" song. I remember the last time I went to karaoke at ru-ru-la-la, Tiffany and I sang that song, it was fun.

"I’ve been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I’ve been searching but I just don’t see the signs
I know that it’s out there
There’s got to be something for my soul somewhere"

I love the lyrics for this song. This song is just one of those songs where I was so obsessed, I sang it for days on end. Just like the song from HSM, what ive been looking for. i like the version where sharpay and ryan sing it best. that is the only scene i like to watch out of the whole movie. I think I am just a musical freak. So that is why I really should try out for the musical at school.

"I've never had someone that knows me like you do
the way you do
I've never had somone as good for me as you
no one like you so lonely before i finally found
what i've been looking for"

so more cute dresses?

So the yellow one is the one that Melanie liked and I like the one on the right. Seems like strapless is very in but I dont think I have the right shoulders to show it off. Dress shopping is freaking annoying. I'll just wear a really cool shirt and jeans? I'm sure my date will be chill about it. HAHA. :D

cool shoes that rock my socks.

So New Balance is creating a new line of kids' shoes with collaborating with Sesame Street. I think little kid shoes are the cutest and I always want to steal the little displays of kid shoes. It is amazing to see how tiny feet fit into such tiny shoes. When I see little kids who are like 2 years old, I think they look like mini-people. It is odd. I haven't been around toddlers in a LOOONG time and now one is coming in mi familia very soon. Scary. Tiny feet. Tiny hands. Tiny EVERYTHING.

Marc Jacobs and Cancer Awareness

So Marc Jacobs is making a bunch of t-shirts with naked celebrities on it to support cancer awareness cause. I mean good job to Marc Jacobs and helping the cause but I am kind of sick of celebrity philanthropy. Maybe I am just being pessimistic but I get sick of how some celebrities are awesomely praised by the "good works" they do. What about the people who are not famous but do equal and even more things to help others?

But I mean what can I say when I don't even do much for my community. I read about those kids who do things and start things and it makes me want to be one of them. I want to help out, not for myself but for others. But it is really hard to think HOW? HOW CAN I HELP? One step at a time I suppose. So that is why I am going to try and improve as a student mentor in our school's student mentoring program. This is the first year that us Link Crew kids are being mentors and it is really frustrating because a lot of us think it is unfair to us and the freshman we mentor. For one, we had to sacrifice our lunch every other week and so we are basically cranky without food. Then we barely have much to talk about except grades and that is not a way to connect with our freshman. It is really hard to connect with my freshman. I tried but I think I have started to give up and I am disappointed in myself. I want to be someone they can turn to and I want to be soemone they can see as a person they can easily say "hi" and I can say that I HAVE NOT been that person. I can say that instead of blaming myself, I have blamed the program and the people in it for the lack of enthusiasm I have felt. But after today's meeting with the counselors and other mentors, I think I have re-thought my purpose as a mentor. Hopefully by the end of the year, I will have helped these freshman just a little to realize that they do have a good future ahead of them and to take advantage while they can of their youth and their resources and help them survive a little bit better because of their WISE MENTOR :D

random asian-ness!

i really like that dark mustard yellow color. i've been trying to experiment with different types of self-photos and be more creative with taking pictures of myself. haha. but i can't say i've been very successful. just lazy, like in the picture above. i went to the goodwill superstore today with tommy after school, and they have so many polaroid cameras! it'd be so fun to have one, but buying film for it is probalby expensive. i haven't really looked in on it, so i wouldn't really know. but i have one of those old polaroid cameras that were popular back when i was in elementary, and i remember that the film for those were pretty expensive. it was those polaroid that printed out super small sticky polaroid pictures. gaah, i forget what kind of camera its called now. the only name i can think of is "iphone." how lame! but on another note, i find it so exciting when people tell me they read this blog! i don't know why. it's just that i never really expect anyone to read this, so when people tell me they do, it's kinda mind-blowing....

asian people are so weird. i swear! korean plastic surgeons have actually created the "ideal young korean male."ahahahaha. when i saw the picture of him, i thought... "hmm.. song seung hun, kwong sang woo, lee wan?!?" and that's about it. but really, if you stare at him long enough, and you know what the guys who he's created out of looks like, you can really start to see them in him. it's freeeeaky

The Ideal Young Korean Male -- Revealed A plastic surgeon has published a composite image of the ideal male Korean face. Rhee Seung-chul, the head of plastic surgery at Hanil General Hospital, made the image from the faces of 16 Korean Wave stars. Rhee had earlier done the same thing for women by making a composite image of 19 female stars. The ideal Korean male consists of bits and pieces from Kang Dong-won, Kwon Sang-woo, Kim Rae-won, Mun Jeong-hyeok, Bae Yong-joon, Jung Ji-hoon, Song Il-gook, Won Bin, Lee Wan, Jang Dong-gun, Jae Hee, Cho In-sung, Jo Hyun-jae, Ji Seong, Ji Jin-hee, and Hyun Bin? all of them popular not only in Korea but in China and Japan as well. He analyzed their faces with a computer program called BAPA, for “balanced angular and proportional analysis.” The result is a slim face with chiseled cheekbones and a clear chin, big eyes, a long nose and long, thin upper lip. "According to the beauty theory that says the average of all the most preferred faces is the most beautiful, I made the new-generation handsome face by using the faces of stars that young Internet users like most,” Rhee said. (englishnews@chosun.com )

ahh, yeah. so i was kinda right. except song seung hun is not listed, which is funny, because that guy up there actually looks almost exactly like song seung hun. but i must be really out of that korean scene i was into a while ago, because i don't even know who half of those guys listed up there are! wow, i only know who seven of them are. and yeah. joo ji hoon is pretty amazing looking. oh wait, that's not even joo ji hoon! it's jung ji hoon. haha. oh, well i know who he is anyways, so i still only know seven guys listed. okay, whatever. a rant about nothing... i wonder what america's ideal young male or female would be. the female would probably be a paris hilton, lindsay lohan, nicole richie, marykate and ashley mix. whoopee.

anyways, today i came across this picture i photoshopped with once, like a million years ago, and actually recognized it! it was on a myspace. and right then i kinda missed photoshopping. funnily enough, as i was browsing through 's beauty & fashion section, i came across this tutorial on how to acheive the "ullzzang" look. wow. woow. they said there was no photoshop used... but i think that might be a lie..

INDULDGE YOURSELVES!
(before and after) "pshyeaaaaah right..." right?
You'll need the folowing(i'm just translating this straight from the original post..the person was not very specific with which exact shade of color she used):
  • MAC's eyeshadow
  • liquid foundation and face powder
  • Anna Sui's Liquid eyeliner
  • L'Oreal's mascara
  • Lip gloss
  • Fake eyelashes
  • double eyelid glue
  • PS (the author said she didn't use any PS skills on her pix..but she must had done sth to make her chin look so pointy..or maybe it was just the lighting~)
    Here's How:

    1. Circle Lens + double eyelid glue

    2. apply the toner

    3. apply the liquid foundation

    4. glue on the fake eyelashes along and apply the mascara along with the fake eyelashes

    5. You do not need to draw your upper eyelid with an eyeliner because you already have the fake eyelashes on. So you'll only need to draw the lower eyelide with a black eyeliner.

    6. Now you need to apply the eyeshadow.

    a) brighten up the entire eyelid (between the eyebrow and the eyelashes line) using the white shadow.

    B) now apply the black shadow as seen in the pic.

    c) put on some lip gloss~

    AND TATA~ YOU'RE NOW AN ULZZANG~ :P
i think it's kinda amazing...but scary! how will her boyfriend feel once she takes off all that makeup at the end of the day! eyelashes do a lot... but i'll try it this summer anyways. i think it;s interesting and i want to try it out. girls on the thread were actually saying that this gave them hope. haha.

    spring already? almost...

So today was the first day of the new spring term. I had my new classes and I am feeling slightly overwhelmed but excited. AP Chem seems overwhelming and slightly intimidating. AP English seems like a challenge but I think I will have "fun" because I love writing. I am excited. My AP English teacher seems really nice and her whole speech was that she would be there for us which I was very glad. Spanish 3 seems scary because our teacher wants us only to speak Spanish. -___-. I wish I had Mr. Young for Spanish again because he only spoke Spanish for the first month. Intermediate Web Design seems super easy so I will just chill in that class.

I came home today and my mom says "oh some actor died". When we turned on prime time I was so shocked that it was Heath Ledger! This was even more random that Anna Nicole Smith's death. I was really shocked and sad. I think Heath Ledger was a great actor. I really enjoyed most of his movies. They said he overdosed on over the counter pills. One factor they believe to be his "suicide" or "death" was the overwhelming stress of his role as Joker in the upcoming The Dark Knight (batman movie). In his last interview, he expressed the mental toll it was to become Joker and how Joker was such a heartless character who had no morals. I believe that one factor in his death is the controversial topic of "when does the actor stop becoming his/her character". It reminds me of the suicide of Lee Eun Joo (the korean actress who died a couple years ago). My parents had just recently watched the Scarlett Letter (korean movie) with her and it was her recent role and she played a very twisted sad character who was very suicidal and in most of her movies, she was played as a sad woman who usually died in the end. She was heavily depressed and it seemed she could not snap out of her character. I think that is not the sole reason to Heath Ledger's death but that reason + heavy medication + depression = unstable mental state. It really is sad to see these kind of things happen to people. I really send out my heart for his family and his poor young daughter.

my favorite movies with heath ledger:

10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU

    A KNIGHTS TALE

    LORDS OF DOGTOWN

It would be an interesting study to study the mental state of actors and how they actually can get in and out of character. It can take a mental toll for those who play really intense characters. It can be a mental drain to believe for months that you are one person and then revert back to yourself. Heath Ledger dead at age 28

    Heath Ledger as "Joker"

"Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan said earlier this month that Ledger's performance as the Joker would be wildly different than Jack Nicholson's turn in 1989's "Batman.
It was a very great challenge for Heath," Nolan said. "He's extremely original, extremely frightening, tremendously edgy. A very young character, a very anarchic presence that taps into a lot of our basic fears and panic."

It is kind of depressing to talk about those kind of things. Death is a very scary subject to talk about. My dad's friend has a friend whose daughter died last year in a car accident and he was talking about it. It kind of got me thinking about if I were to die. I was thinking realistically about it. Sometimes things can unexpectedly happen especially at my age. Car accidents is the #1 killer for teens. I thought about it and if I were able to have my last words carried out. I would probably tell my family I loved them (no doubt.) and tell my sister, Bella to take care of the family well because I know my brother (second oldest) would not be able to take my position in the family. I would tell Pachia (bff :D) to probably check up on my family to see if they are okay (haha hope she can handle that) once in awhile and help guide my little sister. I would probably let Melanie, Pachia and Bella split my clothes since that is the only worthy possession I have. So if I am not able to let my last words carried out, at least they can read it on the blog. Haha. Everyone thinks about it once in a while.

In Intermediate Web Design, I was reading this article about the "online generation" which is pretty much us. <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/22/arts/television/22front.html?_r=1&ref=arts&oref=slogin"> the rough and tumble online universe traversed by young cybernauts talks about
impact of growing up with the internet. There is going to be a PBS "frontline" special called "growing up online" about this. There are the bad and good things about growing up from the internet. The one thing they talk about in the article that I totally relate is the growing plagarism and "cut and paste" writing in education. Seriously, when is the last time I've read a book for a English class without the aid of Sparknotes or Wikipedia? That is how I survived English Honors 10. I think personally, we all need slowly need to learn to not rely on the internet and the computer. We do not own the computer, the computer owns us.

Here is some interesting info I found out; BEST WAY TO COOK YOUR RAMEN is by following the directions on the ramen package. I was watching a Korean show and there was a man who owned a ramen restaurant and he cooked his ramen from ramen packages and his best advice was to actually follow the directions. He also made his own soup base so my mom was like naww his ramen just tastes good because of his base. Well my mom tried it today with regular water and she said it does make a difference. So go and read that ramen package instruction.

one of my favorite ramen packages:
    cooking directions
    1. Bring to boil 2 cups of water.
    2. Add noodle and ingredients to boiling water and simmer 4 minutes, stir occasionally.
    3. Optionally, add fresh vegetables and scallion, if desired.

    happy birthday mlk!

i have found my prom dress. however, unforutnate as it may be, i know i cannot have it! my mom refuses to buy it for me, because it's way overpriced and she doesn't like it : i can't argue with her though. it only started out as $10 on ebay, and freaking escalated to over $100 because of the same stupid bidder! ahhh. oh well, oh well, i will find another dress. besides, it will be much more fun going dress shopping in person with friends, instead of just buying a dress online. and i wouldn't have even gotten the chance to try it on either. well, here's a picture in honor of the memory of my could-be-prom-dress:

so my phone is worthless. it's died. not really though. the screen is just dead, and its kinda cracked open, so i can't really hear it ring or hear the person on the other line when i pick up the phone call. it's just lame, and i'm not sure when i'm going to get a new phone or if i'm going to get a new phone, but i don't think i'd mind what it is at all as long as i have a phone that works. wow. maybe phones just arent my thing. they always die on me and i'm always killing them! i'm such a murderer. but aside from that, i've realized that i really hate it when i call someone and they don't pick up. it's actually become a fear of mines. i always freak out if they don't pick up. things flash through my head like "they hate me now!" "oh my god, something's wrong!" "they must be mad or annoyed at me..." it's kinda ridiculous and crazy. but what can i say? it's just another one of my silly little nuisances. (if i even spelled that word right.) atleast i've realized i'm crazy... and i'm not in denial. then i'd really be crazy. but i know why i have that fear. i analyze myself a lot in the free time i have right before bed.

sometimes i read christina's posts on here, and wonder where she finds such interesting things to show off. all i do is post about my day. and since nothing ever happens, i usually just dont post! haah. but yeah, i have a lot of laundry to do. not to wash, but to fold. i get really lazy and just leave all of my washed laundry in the corner in my room, and never get to them. then i rummage through them like a maniac in the morning, looking for something to wear, and just leave an even bigger mess all over the floor. no matter, i still want to go shopping. everyone says their tired of shopping because over the winter break that's all they did! but i didnt even get to go shopping once over the winter break! and i need coats. however, my momma says we should be spending our money wisely, especially since our country is in a recession right now... so i'll just suck it up and wear that coat with the fur hoodie i've been wearing since last year, for this winter as well. besides, next year i'll be working and have money, so i'll just buy myself my own coat! how satisfying will that feeling be? i'm not so sure... because i've never actually bought myself a coat with my own hard-earned money before.

i've been listening to david choi. i don't know how special he may sound, but i really like him. i think him and his songs are cute!
here's a cover for my song of '07!
my favorite from him, so far!
the other day i read this article, and it made me really sad.

    some like it hot.

I really want to watch this movie. I cannot wait until it comes out on clubbox soon. I think An So Hee from Wonder girls (she is the young one) is the cutest thing. I am so jealous of her because she is fifteen and she is so talented. There is a whole bunch of young Korean talent nowadays. I feel so old. Yeah that is weird.

I am also super jealous of Kim Min Hee's gorgeous cheekbones. Looking at the caps of the movies, makes me want to watch the movie more. The movie is called "some like it hot". It revolves around three main characters, a single woman (40s), the oldest daughter (20s), and the youngest daughter (teens) and their romances. It is supposed to be a comedy.

Today I was pretty much lazy and stayed home and did nothing. I was super bored. My mom was out and my dad took my sisters with him to do errands. My brother was asleep upstairs, really sick. I was just doing nothing. Sometimes it feels good to do nothing though. So I have been downloading a bunch of new songs and I am really into relaxing vocals and cool beats. Of course that has to mean Humming Urban Stereo and Clazziquai. Clazziquai is probably one of the only artists where I can listen to the WHOLE album over and over and not get tired of it.

So today I did a dumb thing. I spilled juice on my small blanket so I decided to hand wash it since our washer and dryer is on the fritz at the moment. I just soaked it with hot water and scrubbed with soap and let is soak for awhile. So I did that at like 2 pm and then I rememered it around like 9 pm. So I tried to squeeze the water out of the blanket and my arms were freaking sore. Then I called my sister to the bathroom to help me (did i mention I soaked it in the bathroom tub). So we just decided to grab the whole blanket and push against the wall and try to squeeze it by one of us punching it. It kind of worked. I should have just tried to soak the part that just had juice. -___-

So I was reading an article on NY Times online called "Thumbs Race as Japan’s Best Sellers Go Cellular". It turns out that Japanese fanfic writers are now posting their online novels by their cellphones so readers can read it on their phones. That is pretty insane to type a whole story on your phone. Some writers argue degrades real writing and such. "Critics said the dominance of cellphone novels, with their poor literary quality, would hasten the decline of Japanese literature. Whatever their literary talents, cellphone novelists are racking up the kind of sales that most more experienced, traditional novelists can only dream of." I guess it is like the popularity of the online fanfics in Korea that are turned into books. They write with slang and online facial expressions (^__^) and it kind of insults writers who can take years to write books filled with words only. I think the reason fanfics are popular is the content. It appeals to young people (especially the females) because a lot of fanfic contains romantic/comedy plots. I do read online fanfics because to me, they can be like watching a movie or a drama. I probably could choose it over a book but I think there is a quality in books that fanfics don't have. Not to be mean but a lot of fanfics don't have quality. They are just kind of repeats of each other with different names. I am pretty picky when it comes to read fanfics now. But I think that some fanfics do emit that "author sincerity" and can have as much feelings as a book can. Though I think cellphone novels sound pretty scary to write after I read this " A year ago, one of Starts Publishing’s young stars, Chaco, gave up her phone even though she could compose much faster with it by tapping with her thumb. Because of writing on the cellphone, her nail had cut into the flesh and became bloodied,” said Mr. Matsushima of Starts." O____O

I watched the Bring It On marathon on ABC Family today since I had nothing to do. I was excited to see the latest Bring It On. I still think the first on is the best one. The second Bring It On was total crap. The third BIO with Hayden P. was not so bad. The latest one was pretty good too. Though Michael Copon is totally hot and him being a former Power Ranger too is a plus. I think the only thing worthy to watch in all the movies though is the cheering choregraphy. Man I would love to meet a guy cheerleader. That seems pretty cool to me. Though I did like some of their funny sayings in Bring It On 2 like "make like a tom, and CRUISE." That cracked me up bad.

So apparently A Tale of Two Sisters (american version) should be coming out pretty soon. I remember watching the original Korean one and it was scary and creepy and twisted. however I was pretty much hiding behind my pillow the whole time. It was really confusing and my best friend and I had to get some guy online who loved the movie to tell us the whole plot of it before we figured it out. I do want to watch the American version when it comes out because after I saw the pictures of the actresses playing the two sisters (played by Im Soo Young and Moon Geun Young in the Korean original), I think it may be okay but everything depends on the new plot and the directing. The girls playing the two sisters look pretty cute and I love their hair color. Yeah that is totally irrelevant to the movie. I hope it comes out soon. It was orignally supposed to come out January 1st 2008.
