my bad sat story of the day

just wanted to copy and paste this in here so i wont forget. copied&pasted from my myspace bulletin rant.

this is like my fourth time taking sats (sat & sat ii total) and today i took three sat iis. well i go to florin and i was worried i would be late but i got there at 7:45 and it was all fine and i found some sheldon kids to talk to. so as one of the teacher is instructing us to go to different places and we are about to go in our classrooms, i realize OMFG I FORGOT AN ID!?!?!?!?! AHHHHH so i am about to like cry and have a heart attack. then someone is like just go tell them and maybe they will let you off. so i tell the guy and he says "okay just call someone to bring it". so i call my father. and then he gives me craploads of extra stress because he starts complaining about how irresponsible i am and also my room is a mess and i do not know where is my effing id because my room is a freaking pigsty and i last left my id in my jean pockets so im trying to instruct my father the certain places where it could be and he just ends up yelling at me on the phone and i just get all huffed and say JUST FIND AND BRING IT AN HOUR and i have to go take my test.

so i come into my class
room as the lady is reading instructions and i tell her the situation and she is fine. at least she was okay about it, not one of those psycho teachers who would have to consult a million people before she thought it was okay. so i was lucky and i had my admission ticket so all i had to do was prove i was here. if my dad had not brought in my id i probably would have resulted in getting my birth certificate.

so on top of the stres
s of taking sat iis, i had that stress to deal with and taking literature first while thinking about all this was a HEADACHE. us history was okay. but math 2c WAS HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. i did half and probably knew for sure, half of that half. try and figure out the math. it just equals F.

so i bette
r have done well after all that crap i went through that morning :D.

dont sweat it.

It is November 1 and you know that means PANIC MOOOODE (whiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrllll the sirens) because 29 days before the deadline of UC/csu APPS!!! But don't sweat it, we can make it.

So my Halloween turned out to be a LOT more fun that I thought it was going to be. So I had to work on Halloween night (sad sad) so I made no plans with friends to spend Halloween and everyone was kind of off doing their own thing. The night before, my friend and I realized we wanted to dress up for school. So we spent half the night researching on what we could be with the clothes we already had. She lost inspiration but I found some. I decided to be a modern day SNOW WHITE. I got some great inspiration from a site that I cannot remember and it is on my sister's browser but I made an outfit somewhat like this.

I wore a yellow skirt I had (same shade as one above), a blue top (same shade as above) with this peter pan collar, a red sash (made with this long red thin scarf i had) around my waist, red tights (because it was cold!) and a red headband. Surprisingly, a lot of people got it. Too bad I do not have a picture of it (Chrissa took some for yearbook though) but this one random girl even came up to me and was like "Miss? (...why do i feel old when she called me that..) Are you Snow White?" and I replied "yes!". Nice moment. Sadly Halloween was a little desolate this year. It was raining and cold. I took my little sister trick or treating for an hour before I went to work at 8pm. We didn't get as much candy and skipped around a lot, but she was satisfied enough. Then I went to work and me and Hanh were very bored since it wasn't busy at all. But luckily our lovely friends came to visit us because they also had nothing to do. So I said, HEY IT IS OUR LAST HALLOWEEN TOGETHER, we HAVE TO TAKE A PICTURE!! And we did, and they should all thank me for this lovely memory even though I look like CRAP in my work clothes and our Red Berry hats always make us look stupid.

The Red Berry circle of Frozen Yogurt Love.

I love silly pictures the best.

We closed early around 10 pm and decided a spontaneous trip to In & Out because of course the coolest kids always go to In&Out. We squished in a booth and ate our animal fries and burgers and enjoyed our youth. And afterwards, Michelle, Lissah, and I danced around to Matt blasting Jonas Brothers' Burning Up while Desiree recorded us. Then Kingston and Michelle started dancing in front of all the cars in the drive thru line and then I realized it was time to go hommmmme so we stop acting like obnoxious teenagers. But it was a lot of fun. Simple joys like that should never be taken for granted.

For my senior paper (on my senior project) I have decided to do a paper that is opposite of my project (theme revolves around happy, stress-free week). It questions why does the current youth stress so much (I think the youth is starting to stress more and more and at a younger age) and does it result it more aggression and violence in society? I checked out a couple teen stress and angst books and also a self-help book called Don't Sweat the Small Stuff for Teens. I do not really believe in self-help books because I think people who write them are pompous asses who have more effed lives than normal people but don't even realize it but this one is okay.

I am using it as a somewhat Bible for my daily stresses and I have been preaching random quotes from it to my friends when we stress out but they just yell at me to shut up. See what I mean teen stress = ANGST AND VIOLENCE!!

So here are a couple tips for stress:
  1. Don't THROW UP ON FRIENDS - You wouldn't throw up on friends when you are sick (because that is sick) so don't get mad at them when you are having a mood swing because mood swings are temporary but your actions and words from those swings are permanent.
  2. Convince yourself that one teen makes a difference - I STRONGLY believe in this one and I always try to encourage people about this philosophy. "You make a difference every time you're thoughtful, helpful, cooperative, generous, compasionate, or kind. "
  3. Avoid the words " I know " when someone is talking - I do this all the time when I am talking to my mom and she gets really mad so I should this. "When you automatically respond to someone by saying 'I know' what you're really saing is, 'I'm not listening to you'.".
  4. Get out of the EMERGENCY LANE! - I have a lot friends who do this and it rubs off of me too. So we just all panic and run around like chickens with our heads cut off over little things. "In a nutshell, living life in the emergency lane measn you treat virtually everying as an emergency! Every decision seems critical, every mistake is looked at as monumental...You're usually in a hurry, anxious to get somewhere other than where you are...when everything is a really big deal to you, it's almost impossible to have any fun!"
  5. DROP THE DRAMA - The biggest lesson a teenage can overcome, dropping the drama, especially if it is yours. I am the type to get over things in like a day, but a lot of people I know can moan about things for weeks. GET OVER IT!!! "And while it can be realy tempting to blow these types of things out of proportion, it's ultimately better for your SANITY, your friendships, and your happiness to learn to let them go."
This book solves all the stresses I am going through (except family... I haven't read that far into the book).

I hoped I'ved helped your life a little if you actually READ those tips. :] I hope I can keep these things in mind as I go on with my life.

homecoming weekend & update on life.

Although my homecoming week was last week, I finally had time to update. Homecoming was pretty fun. I plan to go to all the dances this year for senior year, even junior prom if I can find a junior to go with (hahah). So my homecoming dress was actually less than $5. I bought it at the thrift store. It caught my eye when I went thrifting with Adrienne and Michelle for their first time experience. I tried it on and it was a little ehh because it didn't fit so tight so I decided against it. But I went again the next day with my mom and sister and I bought it because I liked it so much. So on the day of the dance, to make the dress straps higher, I cut them on the back and made them into a halter. Then I put one of those tacky gold sequined belts that were really popular when I was like 8th/freshman around my waist and doubled it and used the clasp as sort of a decoration. It gave the dress a better shape and accentuated my waist. So I think it turned out pretty well. Everyone liked it. And it was sparkly. It was a little old school with the second layer of skirt underneath.

I liked that picture even though it is blurry.
It captures all of our fun and youth and happiness.

So the deadlines of UCs are coming closer and closer. And I have yet to start my personal statement. With college applications coming so close, I have a lots of doubts and fears but I am trying to go past it. I try so hard to continue to believe I can do it, to believe that I will make it, and just keep striving harder and farther no matter what statistics, collegeboard, counselors and my peers say. I will make it to where I want, what I want to do and you know what, I am not going to be like EVERYONE else going toward majors of math/science. Sometimes I feel it is hard to major in english/history subjects or journalism/communications but I will do it. Because that is what I excell in and I sure will kickass to do what I love so I will try hard.
Never quit. Because by doing so, you are giving your oppressors what they want.

I found that quote somewhere, but it describes what I feel and what I need to feel.

Also I have been working my ass off for multicultural. I know I am being a little loco and putting more effort than necessary for a show that is only for one day and just for an assembly and night show, but I really care a lot. Because I am the leader and choreographer of Korean fan dance, I want it to be perfect and ordering around 24 GIRLS is a lot of work. And making sure they are in unison at the right time, in the right order, and emphasize grace and beauty while spinning and moving fans. But it will turn out all right in the end, it always does.

And so far for colleges, I am almost done with state schools, just need to work on personal statements, and thank goodness private school applications arent due until JANUARY!!! After January, life will be normal and I will partying every day to celebrate senior year. Just let me survive through school, work, my crazy family, multicultural and life until then.

this song makes me think it will be alright.

à San Francisco!

I went to San Francisco last thursday to watch a play with my HISP class! We have a San Francisco trip almost every year (except for sophomore year-- so that ruined it) and every year we also have our little stop-at-the-Golden-Gate-Bridge-Park-for-lunch routine, which is always nice, before we go to the play. I took some pictures but not a lot. Some i stole off of melanie's facebook.

this year we went to watch "Rock and Roll" written by Tom Stoppard. It was about communism and Czechoslovakia and rock and roll (of course) and Cambridge and Jun and socialism and Syd Barret. That was mostly all i got out of it... i didn't really get it. neither did the rest of my classmates, so i'm not alone. but for some reason, i still thought the play was good.

aside from this play, i really havent done any cultural events yet! which is actually really bad, because the quarter is ending on halloween day and i need to have three cultural events to turn in! i havent even done anything that i can atleast lie and say was a cultural event, although of course i've never done that before, you guys.... i'm going to an Alice in Wonderland Ballet this Thursday, so i think that'll be good. hopefully i can find something to do. maybe i'll finally go to the crocker art museum. i've actually never been there. SN&R is a saver, i was looking through one today, and they have tons of advertisements for events! they also have a nasty personal section too, tsk, tsk.

courtney is super cute.

a good breakfast is all you need.

So it seems my senior year has been a cycle of MON-FRI = stress, stress, stress; after school FRI-SUN = chill. But once Monday starts again, it is stress all over again. Why? I do not know. I think it may be my classes or my anxiety or that senior year just damn sucks. But lately my weekends have been the best and have been super chill. So I will talk about my weekend, because it makes me happy.

So last weekend, I probably spent all weekend with Mimi and Chrissa pretty much. On Friday, I went to Toy Box and ushered and hung with my friends (as told in the previous post).

Here's the picture with us meeting Gabe Bondoc.

On Saturday, Chrissa, Mimi and Michelle came over to "work" on fan dance (I will talk about that later on) but pretty much we worked/chilled. And we got to surprise Michelle for her birthday with our belated gift of a pretty m&m cake that Chrissa baked and a poster we made for her that we were going to hold at homecoming game that said "Michelle Homecoming Princess" because she is one of the homecoming princesses. Then we went to Red Berry to drop me off work and they just hung around. Then Mimi and Chrissa came up with the idea to go thrifting. So Sunday we woke up early and went to Chrissa's house to go eat french toast made by Mimi (which were delicious) and then went thifting. We were at the store for like two hours. Then we decided to go to another one but got totally lost and probably would have ended up really far up north if we had not turned around. We passed a Target and Mimi got really excited and we just had to go in. Me and Chrissa took stupid pictures while Mimi looked at clothes.

I am attacking Chrissa. Camp Rock lovers, my sister and Chrissa.

That was scary. Happy Holidays.

Then we just decided to go eat at Jack's Urban Eats because Mimi really wanted to show us their salads. So it is a make your own salad place, well they make it but you choose what is in it. It was REALLY GOOD for some reason. And they were huge. The urban fries were AWESOME too. They were bleu cheese fries.

They look good, don't you think?

Mimi is a better advertisement for the salad then I was.

We were super tired afterwards. I fell asleep as we were driving. Then I had work afterwards, such a BUMMER. But we got over it.

So today was PSAT day for sophmores, so we got to go to school at 10:50 am. So we decided to do a breakfast at Michelle's house. We made omelettes and french toast (by Mimi again) and had fruit. It was the best thing ever. I had the best morning afterwards. I was happy all day. It is true, a good breakfast is all you need. But we were late to first period and got to school at 11 am. hahah.

We even added parsley for random decoration (my idea).

My hair looks horrible but it was a good picture.
We had to rush to put the timer on.
I wish I could eat it all over again.
